I. Read this passage carefully. Then answer the questions (2.5m)
Good health is important to everyone. Without good health, you cannot
perform your daily activities. You will not be able to work, study and even enjoy
your food.
Students, personal hygiene is one of the ways to good health. Personal hygiene
means taking care of the cleanliness of your body. A good bath with pleny of soap
and water once a day is a must in a hot country like ours. Wearing clean clothes is
also important. Nails, hairs and teeth must always be looked after and kept clean.
Hair can be kept long provided you wash it with suitable shampoo at least two times
a week. Brushing your teeth, especially after your meals is a sure way to prevent
dental decay.
Next is eating a balanced diet. As you know, there are so many classes of
food such as carbohydrates, fat, proteins, vitamins, minerals and roughage. So, our
meals must contain food from all the different classes. Growing children must eat
food containing proteins such as fish, meat, eggs and pulses. Proteins help to build
strong bodies. Carbohydrates and fat provide us with energy. Vitamins and minerals
give us general good health. It is very healthy to include a lot of fruits and
vegetables in your diet. Drinking plenty of water is necessary too. Our bodies need
rest after being active, and one good way of resting is to sleep. We must have
enough hours of sleep to allow our bodies relax.
Relaxation helps to reduce our stress and tention in our daily life. We can
either relax by listening to music or by doing something that we enjoy. Hence, it is
good to have an interesting hobby.
