GUIDELINES ON SUBJECT COMPLETION
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
The IEMBA students are required to successfully complete 12 (twelve) courses
and a dissertation to get the degree. The course list is as follows:

Lectures
Lecturers are to provide students at classes with lectures as
follows:
- Teaching, sharing and providing knowledge relating to the
subject (Lectures’ contents are regulated by PGSM).
- Practices/exercises and case study relating to the subject are
also included and comply with the set syllabus.
Method
-

Review Class lectures are given in 8 consecutive sessions (04
days).

-

Individual Assignment
-

Every student does 01 individual assignment/subject based on the
questions put by PGSM.

Applying Microsoft office Word for the assignment.

The assignment is written in English.

The assignment must be submitted by the set deadline.

Method
-

Using Microsoft Office Word for the Individual Assignment.

-

The minimum and maximum lengths of each individual assignment are
7 A4 pages and 14 A4 pages respectively).

Font of writing: Times New Roman; Font size: 13; Spacing: 1.5.

-

The individual assignment must specify references (if any).

Group assignment
Purpose: Evaluating students’ skills of arguing, doing presentation and
improving team work and presentation skills.
Requirement:
-Each group includes at least 5 members. All members must do their group
assignment.
-Using Microsoft Office Word for group assignment.
-Every member of a group is required to cross-check their task to ensure
their equal contribution to the assignment.
-The assignment is written in English.
-The assignment must be submitted by the set deadline.

Method
-

Using Microsoft Office Word for the group Assignment.

-

The minimum and maximum lengths of each group assignment are 14 A4
pages and 25 A4 pages respectively).


-

Font of writing: Times New Roman; Font size: 13; Spacing: 1.5.

-

The assignment must be readable and specify references (if any).

Final Exam
Purpose: Evaluate each student’s ability to study and gain knowledge
about relevant subjects.
Requirement:
-Every student does the final exam on the date set by PGSM.
-The final exam can be either handwriting or a typed file. Each student
must sign on their final exam paper.
-PGSM’s lecturers are to mark and sign on students’ final exam papers.

Method
-

The final exam uses the Case Study provided by PGSM.

-

Based on taught knowledge and self-study, students answer
questions relating to the Case Study.


-

Duration for a final exam: 240 minutes.

DISSERTATION OUTLINE
Dissertation
Students for the International Executive MBA Program are requested to
submit a dissertation as part of each Degree. The dissertation is focused
on a topic of the relevant degree in various organizational contexts.
General suggestions, which are not limitations are:
-General Management.
-Management issues addressed in the learning of the specific degree.
-Cross – functional impact on organizations.
-Cross – disciplinary approaches.
-Topics with regards to internationalization and globalization.
-Issues of ethical and sustainable management related to the course.

DISSERTATION OUTLINE


Each student shall be guided by a dissertation advisor subject to
the regulations of the program.




The dissertation progress evaluation shall be monthly submitted
to the Program by the advisor.



Submission within 12 weeks after the start of the dissertation
module.



Every student must carefully select their dissertation subject
since these subjects shall be submitted to PGSM for approval.
Once the student’s subject is approved by PGSM, he/she is not
entitled to change it.



Excluding such parts as appendices, acknowledgement, etc, the
minimum and maximum lengths of each dissertation are 60 and
80 pages respectively.

Mark components for each subject are as follow

PROGRAM REGULATIONS
1. Regulations on marks
1.1 In case a course GPA of a student is less than 40%, he/she must:
• Repeat the course; and
• Pay course repeat fee.
• Remark: Each student is entitled to repeat a course once only.
1.2 Once a course GPA of a student is from 40- 49% or GPA of a student is
more than 49%; YET one of his/her mark components (exam, individual
assignment and/or group assignment mark) is less than 40%, he/she must:
• Retake the exam (if his/her exam mark is less than 40%) and/or resubmit his/her
assignment (if his/her assignment mark is less than 40%);
• Pay exam repeat fee and/or assignment resubmission fee. The assignment
resubmission fee is equal to the exam repeat fee.
•Remark: Each student is entitled to register for retaking an exam twice per
course and/or resubmitting an assignment twice per course at the maximum.

PROGRAM REGULATIONS
2. Individual or Group Assignments
2.1 Once a student submits his/her Individual or Group Assignments late
 If he/she has submitted a letter asking the program for its approval of the

late submission and other relevant proof/evidence as reasons for the late
submission before the deadline of submission,
- Based on the letter from the student, the program is to consider and
decide the maximum time for the extension time;
- The student does not have to pay fees for the late assignment
submission.
 Once the student does not submit the above-mentioned letter and he/she
submits his/her assignment(s) after the deadline set by the program:
 The assignment result shall be deducted 5 marks/day;
 The assignment result is zero when it is submitted 7 days late.
2.2 Once students copy any part of other students’ assignment or final
exam paper, their assignment mark is zero.

PROGRAM REGULATIONS
3. Grade appeal
Students who are dissatisfied with their final grade have the right to
appeal that grade by filling out the Grade Appeal Request Form and
submit it to the Program. If any mistake found, the instructors are
responsible for correcting the grades. The result of grade appeal will
be notified to the students by the Program.
Final grade appeal and grade change (if any) occur within one week
after the release of final results. After that period, NO grade change is
allowed.

REGULATIONS ON INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP ASSIGNMENT

SUBMISSION AND FINAL EXAMINATION ATTENDANCE
1. Individual Assignment
-

Without submitting an individual assignment, the student’s individual
assignment is marked zero and he/she must re-prepare the assignment as well
as pay the relevant fee subject to the Program regulations and guidelines.

-

The Program does not accept any application for the delayed submission of
individual assignment except for force majeure including medical record
verified by a hospital, decision on going on business, some unexpected private
problems, etc. In case of force majeure, the application must be submitted to
the Program 05 days prior to the deadline of individual assignment submission
and must be attached with relevant documents such as hospital’s verified
medical report, decision on going on business, etc.

Each student is entitled to re-prepare one individual assignment per subject. In
case the re-prepared individual assignment is marked below <40.00, the
student must repeat the subject course (including lectures, individual and group
assignments and final exam) and pay the repeat fee.

SUBMISSION AND FINAL EXAMINATION ATTENDANCE

2. Group Assignment
-

The mark of any group assignment submitted after the deadline is
deducted subject to the Program regulations.

-

In case a group assignment is marked below 40.00, the group must
re-prepare its assignment, pay the fee subject to the Program
regulation which requires each group member to pay $100/subject).

-

The Program does not accept any application for the delayed
submission of group assignment.

SUBMISSION AND FINAL EXAMINATION ATTENDANCE
3. Final Exam


Not attending the final exam, the student’s final exam is marked zero and
he/she must pay the fee of retaking the exam subject to the Program
regulations.




The Program does not accept any application for the delayed final
examination retaking except for force majeure including medical record
verified by a hospital, decision on going on business, some unexpected
private problems, etc. In case of force majeure, the application must be
submitted to the Program 05 days prior to the date of final exam and must
be attached with relevant documents such as hospital’s verified medical
report, decision on going on business, etc.



Each student is entitled to retake one final exam per subject. In case the
retaken final exam is marked below <40.00, the student must repeat the
subject course (including lectures, individual and group assignments and
final exam) and pay the exam retaking fee.

Tuition Fees

PROGRAM REGULATIONS

Tuition
The current tuition of the IEMBA program is 180.000.000 VND per student.
The fee must be made in VND,
using the exchange rate set by SBF at the time of payment.
Other fees
Fee for redoing the Individual Assignment: US$ 100/submission
Fee for redoing the Group Assignment : US$ 100/group member

Course repeat fee:
A student is required to pay a fee of US$ 558 for repeating a course.
Examination repeat fee:
A student is required to pay a fee of US$ 100 for repeating an examination.
Dissertation resubmission fee:
A student is required to pay a fee of US$ 750 for dissertation resubmission.
Late Payment
Any payment not made by the due date may incur a late payment penalty
equivalent to 5% of the total tuition. In case of failure to pay tuition and fees by
deadline, students are required to submit a petition letter to the SBF Executive
Director at least one day prior to the due date. Only serious and compelling
reasons are accepted; however, it will be unacceptable if late payment occurs
for two consecutive times.

REGULATIONS ON ATTENDANCE CHECK
General regulation:


The International Executive Master of Business Administration Program
under PGSM checks its students’ attendance at lecture sessions (a
session is ½ day, i.e. a morning or an afternoon)



The student’s number of sessions for each subject decides whether
he/she is entitled to take part in the final exam.




The Program’s class assistant check students’ attendance by letting
them sign on the attendance record.



A student is considered to be absent at the session if when the class
assistant checks students’ attendance, he/she is absent.



Once a student is late for 2 sessions (1 hour late for each), he/she is
considered to be absent for one session.

REGULATIONS ON ATTENDANCE CHECK
 Once a student is absent for 3 sessions without permission,
he/she must:
- Repeat all lectures of the subject and
- Pay fees for the repeat
 If a student is absent for 3 sessions with relevant permission
(he/she goes on business and can submit a paper signed
and stamped by the organization where he/she works; or any
force majeure that is approved by the program), the student
is entitled to:
- Participate the subject final exam.
 Once a student is absent for more than 3 sessions, he/she
must:

- Repeat the subject lectures with the next intake;
- Pay fees for the repeat.

Student feedback on the course:
Once completing a subject, students are provided with
an Evaluation Form for that subject.
The Evaluation Form is distributed to students on the
date of the subject Review.
Based on the Evaluation Form filled with students’
feedbacks on lecturers, materials, infrastructure, etc, we
can update and improve relevant aspects for the highest
quality program.

INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO USE ONLINE LIBRARY SYSTEM

Each student is provided with an account to log in the
program’s online library system .
The electronic library system provides students with
information related to the course:
- 1) Syllabus, Course Content, Schedule, Discussion forum
-(2) Lecture note, Reference
- (3) Activities, Case study at class (if any)
-(4) Individual Assignment and Group Assignment
-(5) Case Study for Final Exam
-(6) Grade/Marks: students’ marks/grades are updated after

completing a subject.
