zzapper’s Top-Ten Success and Self
Improvement Tips
This is the Short Version of the well-known
Ebook
Although a naturally lazy person, I’ve always sought to improve myself,
to work smarter, fortunately I’m a tips-aholic!!
1 3 Steps to Starting your Success
There are three things that need to happen before you can achieve success,
• Firstly you have to transform yourself so that you make every second
count, and become highly efficient at everything you undertake
• Secondly you need to find a business about which you are passionate
1
• Thirdly you just have to get going!
• Positive Thinking
Only accept positive views on life, people and projects. Stop reading
gloomy newspapers etc, try and mix with positive go-getters. Choose
success.
• Improve your Decision Making
Get used to making decisions quicker, avoid delaying decisions. Make a
decision immediately or tell people at what time you’ll make a decision
(and stick to it). Decision making becomes easier with practice.
• Study your Weaknesses and Attack them Aggressively
You don’t usually don’t need to worry about your strengths they take
care of themselves. You’ll get more satisfaction from attacking your
weaknesses. If you read the stories of successful people you’ll notice
they often made their breakthrough when the conquered one blocking
weakness.
• The Devil’s in the Details
Remember you are usually punished in a micro or macro way for any
sloppiness, not emptying/refilling your sports bag as soon as you get
back from the gym. Letting paperwork slip. Not putting a tool back in

its exact spot, not having spare printer and computer media. The trick
is to be tougher on yourself to be kinder to yourself in the longterm.
• Breaking Down Unpleasant Jobs into Manageable Pieces
Breakdown difficult jobs (jobs you keep putting off) into microtasks,
eg say I will just prepare the tools to do a DIY job, that’s all, I will
just collect all the paperwork required for my Tax Return etc (THIS IS
REALLY GOOD way of getting HORRID JOBS STARTED/DONE)
• Every Second Counts
You must become aware that life is short and every day is precious.
That’s one of the reasons why second chancers like Lance Armstrong
become super-successful because they treat every day as a gift.
2
• Use your Dead Time (Believe me you have lots)
While waiting for the kettle to boil etc get something else done (even
something very small) (This one surprised me, it’s kind of fun to see
what you can get done in that short time), in a traffic jam arrange a
few papers in your briefcase. If you can’t do anything practice relaxing.
• Bouncing
Try to always keep busy I call this bouncing (even if what you are
doing is ”unimportant”), always do something tidying, rearranging,
take things out to the car so you don’t forget them, the more you do
the MORE energy you will have. This is the reverse of the couch-potato
who is always tired.
• Be Early
Train yourself to be early/on time for everything business and pleasure,
you’ll get the best welcome, have chance to meet and analyse the others
as they arrive.
• Deal with Paperwork Immediately
Always keep ahead of your paperwork both important and unimpor-
tant. It weighs down your spirit to know it’s lurking in the background.

Use your some of your deadtime.
• Be Prepared
When you have a have a meeting, business trip or holiday coming up,
you will bring to mind items that you will need. You should/must act
immediately fetch the item and place it in your briefcase, suitcase or
car. Why? when people prepare to leave some kind of amnesia occurs
which means they forget to pack one or more of the things they meant
to bring.
• Projecting Confidence
Before entering a meeting room/party etc, mentally prepare yourself
to project openness, be prepared to react immediately to any greeting.
This is mega-important as people often interpret timidity as unfriend-
liness. (THIS WORKS)
3
• Rehearsing
When arriving at an appointment, repeat/rehearse the names of your
hosts, their company name, products. When going into any situation
mentally rehearse different scenarios. When going into a meeting realise
that your opposite is going to negotiate at some stage, don’t be caught
off-guard. Rehearse two or three outcomes/counter arguments
• Listening
When meeting people however casually try to let them talk, learn
something from them, ask their advice. Don’t entertain them with
your brilliance. See other people, however unlikely, as opportunities to
be ”mined” THEY WILL KNOW SOMETHING that is USEFUL to
YOU!
• Mentoring/Coaching
If you unprepared to pay for coaching then consider Peer Mentoring
try to find a colleague (perhaps not a friend) you then tutor each other
on whether you are achieving your goals, the idea is that you feel em-

barassed if you haven’t mey your own targets.
• Success/Self Improvement Tapes
Try to buy audio tapes/CDs whenever possible as you can listem to
them frequently in the car etc
• Finding the Golden Goose
A Salary never brings Riches well for most people anyway, no, you have
find something with a multiplier factor, a franchise, or better create
multiple income streams. Selling Information Products on the Internet
has been called the best business ever, no stock, no staff, no premises,
no postage costs. So what can you sell/resell?
• Research Yourself
Lots of people go blank here, thinking they’ve got no special passion.
That’s just part of our inate inability to know ourselves. Start writing
lists of hobbies, skills, sports and interests, something always appears.
• Get Focussed
4
It is an excellent idea to keep an ideas bank, where you write down
all your ideas. That said however the penultimate stage of your stage
will require you to get ”focussed”. That means you pick your strongest
idea and go with it!
• Get Going
There’s never a right time, better time there’s only today only now.
The number one rule for success is to get going, get anything going!!
• Summary
Make every second of your life count, work harder, play harder, spend
more time with your family. Find your main business idea, get focussed
and then get going!
