I. TENCES:
1. The past simple (thì quá khứ đơn):
a) to be:
- S + was / were

- S + didn't + V-infi
- Did + S + V-infi ... ?
2. The present perfect tense (thì hiện tại hoàn thành):

3. The present progressive tense:

II. WISH (ao ước):
* to be → were (tất cả các ngôi)
* can → could
Ex: - They don't stay in Hue.
→ They wish they stayed in Hue.
- I am not taller.
→ I wish I were taller.
III. PASSIVE VOICE (bò động):
1. The present simple:
Ex: - People grow rice in tropical countries.
→ Rice is grown in tropical countries.
2. The past simple:
Ex: - They built this school 3 years ago.
→ This school was built 3 years ago.
3. The present perfect:
Ex: - Lan has cooked the food.
→ The food has been cooked by Lan.

4. The simple future:
Ex: - They will produce five milion bottles of champagne next year.
→ Five milion bottles of champagne will be produced next year.
5. Modal verbs:
(can; could ; will ' would ; should ; may; might; be going to; have to ; must ...)
Ex: - We can solve the problem easily.
→ The problem can be solved easily.
* Notes: by people; by them; by us; by everyone ... bỏ trong câu bò động.
IV. REPORTED SPEECH:
1. Reported statements:
Ex: - Aunt Xuan said "I'm happy to see you."
→ Aunt Xuan said (that) she was happy to see you.
2. Reported questions:
a) Yes - No questions:
Ex: - "Where do you live?" She asked me.
→ She asked me where I lived.

VIII. GERUND AFTER SOME VERBS:

enjoy / hate / like / love / suggest + V-ing
Ex: She enjoys cooking on weekends.
