III. Steps of teaching:
1. Greetings.
2. Checking attendance.
3. Reviewing the previous lesson.
- Calls some Ss to hand in the preparation notebook.

I. Presentation
A1. Listen. Then practice with a partner.

- Asks Ss to look at the picture on page 72.

“Hoa received a letter from her friends, Tim. He tells many things
with Hoa. You will know that.”
- Asks Ss to discuss in groups for this question:
Which American vacation is the longest?
What does Tim do during his vacation?
- Calls on some Ss to give the answers.
- Asks Ss to listen to the tape and then presents the new words.

Long => the longest: dài nhất
Important => the most important: quan trọng nhất
II. Practice
- Asks Ss to do exercise T or F.
1/ Vietnamese students have fewer vacation than American
students.
2/ American students have the longest vacation in winter.
3/ They don’t have a Tet holiday.
4/ Their most important vacation is New year’s day.
5/ They usually spend their time with their families on Thanksgiving

and Christmas Day.
- Lets some Ss answer.
- Asks Ss to read the letter again and lets them work in groups to find
the answers.
