<b>Thì quá khứ đơn của động từ ‘to be’ trong câu khẳng định</b>
<b> Trong câu khẳng định, thì quá khứ đơn của động từ ‘to be’ có hai dạng biến thể là ‘was’ và ‘were’. Hai từ </b>
<b>này đều có nghĩa là “đã là” hoặc “đã ở” khi dùng trong câu.</b>
<b> Trường hợp động từ ‘to be’ được chia là ‘am’ hoặc ‘is’ ở thì hiện tại thì ở thì q khứ, nó có dạng biến thể </b>
<b>là ‘was’. Trường hợp động từ ‘to be’ được chia là ‘are’ ở thì hiện tại thì nó có dạng biến thể là ‘were’ trong </b>
thì quá khứ.
<b> ‘Was’ và ‘were’ được dùng khi nói đến sự việc, trạng thái đã diễn ra và tồn tại trong quá khứ. Chúng </b>
<b>thường được dùng với các trạng từ chỉ thời gian trong quá khứ như yesterday, last week …</b>
