 LISTENING
A. Objectives:
- Aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
 Make mini conversations about daily topics such as study at school, weather and
traveling…
 Number pictures and complete a dialogue.
- Lexical item: Words related to the information about the school, weather, traveling...
- Teaching aids: Tape, pictures, textbook…
B. Procedure:
Teacher’s Activities Students’Activities
I. Warm up:
- Ask Ss to close their books and notebooks.
- Ask Ss to listen to T.
- Ask Ss some questions:
• Do you like traveling?
• Do you like learning English?
• Do you like the class?
• Are you enjoying the party?
- Introduce the new lesson.
II. Pre-listening
* Vocabulary:
- semester (n): học kì
- comfortable (adj): thoải mái, tiện nghi
- alone (adj/adv): một mình
- (to) go for a swim: đi bơi
- That’s great: Thật là thú vị
* Check vocabulary: Rub out and
Remember


III. While-listening
* Task 1: Match the conversation
with the pictures.
- Ask Ss to open their books.
- Ask Ss to look at the pictures and answer
the questions.
+ Who are talking?
+ Where are they?
+ What are they talking about?
+ Do you think where they are?
- Have Ss listen to the tape the first time.
- Ask Ss to give the answers.
- Close the books and notebooks.
- Listen to T.
- Answer the questions.

- Give the words.
- Open the notebooks and copy down.
- Check vocabulary.

- Have Ss listen to the last conversation.
- Check the answers.
- Call on some pairs to practice the
completed conversation.
* Task 3: Answer the questions:
- Run through the questions.
- Ask Ss to work in pairs to answer the
questions.
- Have Ss listen to the tape 2 times.
- Ask Ss to speak out the answer and write it
on the board.
- Have Ss listen to the tape again to check
the answers.

IV. Post-listening
- Ask Ss to work in groups of 3 or 4 and
discuss the problems they have experienced
at school.
 Suggest the common problems at
school: getting bad marks, having
difficulty in making friends, coming

to class late, be slow at learning…
