<b>A. Phân biệt thì tương lai gần và thì tương lai đơn trong tiếng Anh</b>
Bạn theo dõi ví dụ sau để thấy rõ sự khác nhau giữa thì Tương lai đơn (will)
và thì Tương lai gần (going to) khi cả hai cùng nói về các sự việc trong
tương lai.

Sue đang nói chuyện với Helen:
- Sue: Let's have a party.

Hãy tổ chức một buổi tiệc đi.

Helen: That's a great idea. We'll invite lots of people.

Thật là một ý kiến hay. Chúng ta sẽ mời nhiều người tới tham dự.

Chúng ta sử dụng will khi chúng ta quyết định làm việc gì đó ngay tại thời
điểm nói. Người nói trước đó chưa quyết định làm điều đó. Buổi tiệc là một
ý kiến mới.

Sau hơm đó Helen gặp Dave:

- Helen: Sue and I have decided to have a party. We're going to invite lots of
people

Sue và tôi đã quyết định tổ chức một buổi tiệc. Chúng tôi dự định sẽ mời rất
nhiều người

đến dự.

Chúng ta sử dụng (be) going to khi chúng ta đã quyết định làm điều gì đó rồi.
Helen đã quyết định mời nhiều người tới dự bữa tiệc trước khi nói với Dave.
Bạn so sánh các ví dụ sau để phân biệt thì Tương lai gần (going to) và tương
lai đơn (will):

"George đã gọi điện thoại trong lúc bạn ra ngồi." "Vậy à. Tơi sẽ gọi lại cho
anh ấy."

vs

"George phoned while you were out." "Yes, I know. I'm going to phone him
back."

"George đã gọi điện thoại trong lúc bạn ra ngồi." "Vâng, tơi biết. Tơi định
gọi

cho anh ấy ngay đây."

2. "Ann is in hospital." "Oh, really? I didn't know. I'll go and visit her."
"Ann đang nằm viện." "Ồ, thật ư? Tơi đâu có biết. Tơi sẽ đi thăm cơ ấy."
vs

"Ann is in hospital." "Yes, I know. I'm going to visit her tomorrow."
"Ann đang nằm viện." "Vâng, tôi biết. Tôi định sẽ đi thăm cơ ấy vào ngày
mai."

<b>B. Tình huống và sự việc xảy ra ở tương lai (Dự đoán tương lai)</b>
Đơi khi khơng có sự khác biệt nhiều giữa will và going to.

Chẳng hạn bạn có thể nói:

- I think the weather will be nice later.
hoặc

- I think the weather is going to be nice later.
Tôi nghĩ thời tiết sắp tới sẽ tốt hơn.

Khi chúng ta nói một việc nào đó sắp xảy ra (something is going to happen),
chúng ta biết hay nghĩ tới điều đó dựa vào một tình huống trong hiện tại.

(KHƠNG nói 'It will rain' — we can see the clouds now)
Hãy nhìn những đám mây đen kìa. Trời sắp mưa đấy.
(Chúng ta có thể nhìn thấy các đám mây vào lúc này)
- I feel terrible. I think I'm going to be sick.

(KHÔNG nói "I think I'll be sick" — I feel terrible now)
Tơi cảm thấy khó chịu. Tơi nghĩ tơi sắp bị ốm rồi

(Bây giờ tơi đang cảm thấy khó chịu)

<b>Với các trường hợp như trên, bạn KHÔNG sử dụng will.</b>
Trong các trường hợp khác, chúng ta có thể sử dụng will.
- Tom will probably arrive at about 8 o'clock.

Tom có thể sẽ tới vào lúc 8h.

- I think Ann will like the present we bought for her.

Tơi nghĩ Ann sẽ thích món q chúng ta đã mua tặng cơ ấy.

2. A: Oh. I've just realized. I haven't got any money.
