I. Objectives:
1. Knowledge:

- At the end of the lesson Ss will be able to read, listen to and understand a short
story.

- Practice listening, speaking, reading, writing skills.
3. Attitude:

- Educate Ss to love yourself and your friends.
II. Teaching- aids:

- Student’s book, recording, fresh cards, posters.
III. Methods:

- Model - Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work.
IV. Procedure:

2. Warm up and Review (5’)

* Activity:Lucky number

- T devides Ss ino 2 teams (Blue - White).
- T explains how to play this game.

- T lets 2 teams play togtether.
- T monitors and praise the winner.
3. New lesson (30’)

*Activity 1: Read and listen to the story (7’)

- Ask pupils open the book on page 38.

- Set the context: Read the title of the story. (Do
you understand it? Can you guess what you are 
going to read about?

- Look at the picture. Elicit their answer What is
the story? Recall any vocabulary such as: Cat,
mouse that pupils will need to understand the task.
- T check if pupils can understand the task.

- T play the recording three times: the first for
pupils to listen all the way through and the second
for them to do the task. Pause after each part for
them to repeat.

- Divide class in to groups to role play Chit and
mouse then retell this story.

- Ss work in pairs.

- Call on some pairs to display to the class.
Activity 2. Answer the questions (8’)

* Set the context: You are going to answer the 
questions follow the story Cat and mouse.

- Get pupils to read the story in the silence in a few
minutes before answer.

- Do the first the example.

- Ss I work invidually. Set time. Pupils do the tasks
independently in silence. Monitor and offer help as
necessary.

- Ask pupils check answers in pairs and report their
answers to the class.

- Give some question. Why you choose that
answer.

Activity 3. Unscramble these words from the story
(7’)

- Check their comprehension and the meaning of 
the questions and answers in focus. Recall the
meaning of the words. Get pupils repeat a few

times.

- Do the first example.
- Individual work.

- Monitor the activity and offer help if necessary.
- Get pupils to check their answer in pairs.

- Call on a few pupils to report.
Activity 4. Read and complete (8’)

* Set the context: You are going to work in pairs. 
Have a similar conversation with a partner. Use
your names follow the story Cat and mouse.
- Teacher monitors activity and help if necessary.
- Ask some pairs display in front of class.

Activity 5. Work in pairs. Talk about your last 
holiday (5’)

- Ask Ss to talk about your last holiday.
- Give them 2 minutes.

- Ask ss to act out in front of the class
Activity 6. Read and match (5’)

- Ask Ss to read and match the questions with the
answers.

- Give 2 minutes.
