<b>A. THE OBJECTIVES</b>


By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to:


- Use the lexical items related to the topic "Hobbies";


- Pronounce correctly the sounds /ə/ and /ɜ:/ in isolation and in context;


- Use the present simple, the future simple and verbs of liking + V_ing correctly and
appropriately.


<b>B. CONTENT: Vocabulary: </b>hobbies: collecting dolls/ glass bottles, mountain climbing, taking
photos, doing gymnastics, etc


<b>Grammar:</b> The present simple tense; The future simple and Verbs of liking + V_ing.


<b>Pronunciation:</b> sounds /ə/ and /ɜ:/


<b>C. MATERIALS:</b> course book, CD, CD player



<b>Work arrangements</b>: Individuals, pairs, groups, T-WC


<b>Anticipated problems</b>: some difficult collocations: do the gardening, take photos, do gymnastics;

Ask students if they know what a key word
is. – A key word helps you understand a text
quickly, and it is usually a noun, a verb, an
adjective or an adverb.


Model the way to locate key words for
‘listening to music’.


Have students look at sentence 2 in activity


2 and read out the key words.


- In pairs students do the same.


Students can add more words to the table.
Call on some students from different pairs
to go to the board and write the words.


<i><b>4. Game: The Keys to my Hobby!</b></i>


Ask students to work in groups to play the
guessing game. One student is the group
leader who records other students’ points.
One student is the group secretary who
writes down other students’ hobbies.


When time is up, call on some group
secretaries to share the group’s hobbies.

Have some students read out the words first.
Play the recording. Students listen and tick
