How to repair a flat tyre, how to use a public phone box, how to use a CD player, how to send an email, how to look up a word in a dictionary, how to cook rice, how to use cassette player, how use a digital camera, how make a cup of tea, how to make a paper kite, how to make a call from a cell phone. - the mimers take turns miming the process. - as soon as the miming has been done, the other group has to guess what it is by just calling out the answer. - Put an example in front of the whole class. - allow half a minute for each mime and half a minute for each answer - to make the game more competitive, get the group to count quickly from 1-10 if the other group haven’t found the answer within the allowed time limit Transition: - In today’s speaking section, we’ll learn to Unit 4 : speaking: giving give instructions on how to do sth. instructions on how to do -Write down on the board : something. Assign individual SS to say the expression. - Making a phone call: T does the same as above. * Presenting a model: - Have SS read the conversation ( textbook, p.101) and complete the blank flow chart below. - call on SS to speak out the answers - invite class opinions and give feedback 3. whileSpeaking. Activity 1: Drilling -Put SS into pairs. -Ask SS to take turns, role-playing the conversation - Assign some SS to act out the conversation. - Make corrections where needed. Activity 2: task b, p. 110-111 - Put SS into pairs - Ask each to quickly draw 5 blank blow charts like this - within pairs, SS take turns asking and giving instructions on how to make international direct dialing calls to the numbers provided - as SS do the role-playing, they take turns filling the blank flow chart. - assign some pairs to perform their conversation in front of the class. - make corrections if necessary.
