<b>LESSON 2: SPEAK AND LISTEN</b>
<b>I. OBJECTIVES:</b>
<b>1. Aims: - At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use the</b>
present progressive tense to show changes with “ get “ and “ become”
and listen to get information about an arrangement and use the present
continuous to talk about a plan in the future, talk about the changes of
their home village.
<b>2. Knowlege:</b>

<i><b>* Grammar: Present progressive tense to show changes with the verbs</b></i>
“to get”, “to become”.
<b>3. Skills: Speaking, listening and writing.</b>
<b>II. PREPARATION:</b>
<b>1. Teacher: Lesson plan, projector.</b>
<b>2. Students: Review present progressive tense.</b>
<b>III. PROCEDURES:</b>
<b>1. Warm-up: (2’)</b>
T: - gives out the pictures and asks Ss to distinguish the difference in the
pictures.
- Introduces: She is becoming taller/ She is getting taller.

- Introduces the use of the structure: To
talk about changes.

- Gives out two pictures on page 73 and
asks Ss to complete the network
individually.

- Comments and adds more.
<b>II. WHILE-SPEAKING</b>
- Introduces the example exchange.
<b>*) Example exchange:</b>
S1: <i>What do you think about streets?</i>
S2:<i> 5 years ago, the streets were narrow,</i>
<i>but now they are becoming busier and </i>
<i>noisier.</i>
- Asks Ss to work in groups of four to
talk about the changes of the town
between the past and now.
- Goes round to help Ss and monitor
class.
- Asks Ss to show their ideas to the front.
- Corrects if neccessary, and gives more
ideas about the topic.

- Asks Ss to list the changes in their
hometown.
