Jeans are very popular with young people all over the world. Some people say that
jeans are the “uniform” of youth. But they haven’t always been popular.


The story of jeans started about 200 years ago. People in Genea were called
“Jeanos”; the pants are called “jeans”. In 1850, a saleman in California began selling
pants made in Canvas. His name was Levis Straus. Because they were so strong “Levis
pants” became popular with gold minors, farmers, and cowboys ... Six years latter.
Levis began making his pants with blue cotton cloth called jeans. Soon after factory
workers in Europe began wearing jeans. Young people didn’t use to wear them.
