reading text and do the task using the Simple past with “wish”.

I. Task 1: Getting Started
Pre-question
- List some beautiful scenery in your
hometown.
- Have you ever been there? If yes, in what
occasion?
II. Task 2: Listen and Read
1. Pre-stage
• Vocabulary
- (to) impress: gây ấn tượng
- an area for recreation : nơi giải trí
- (to) depend on (v): phụ thuộc vào
- a place of worship : nơi thờ phượng
- a mosque : nhà thờ Hồi giáo
- peaceful atmosphere (unc.n): không khí
thanh bình


Ex: I don’t have a computer, but I’d love
to.

Simple Past

- Ss in group answer the questions.
- T asks and calls some Ss to answer.
- T introduces the characters Lan and
Maryam.
- T tells the situation and introduces the
theme of the unit. (They are pen pals.
Last week Maryam came to Vietnam.
Lan took her to some places in Hanoi.
So we see that the theme of this unit is “
A Visit From A Pen Pal”.
- T teaches some vocabulary.
- T introduces the new structure “The
past simple with wish”.
- T gives a situation.
- T asks Ss to get the form, the use and
the meaning of the structure.

III. Homework
- Learn vocabulary.
- Read the text again to get the fluency.
- Learn the new structure and do the exercise
again.
- T gets Ss to predict some information
before reading the text.
- Ss read the text and correct their
prediction.

- Ss in pair do the task below the reading
text (4 sentences a, b, c, d)
- Ss give their answers.

- T gives Ss an exercise to practice the
new structure.
