Cartoon films have very few limits. If you can draw something , you can make it move on the cinema screen.
The use of new ideas and advanced computer programs means that cartoons are becoming exciting again for
people of all ages.

But soon afterwards, one or two directors has some original new ideas. They proved that it was possible to
make films in which both adults and children could share the fun .

However, not every cartoon film was successful. The Black Cauldron, for example, failed, mainly because it
was too frightening for children and too childish for adults. Directors learnt from this mistake, and the film
companies began to make large amounts of money again.

London is a big city, but many of the people who live there regard it as a number of small towns put

After inventing dynamite, Swedish – born Alfred Nobel became a very rich man. However , he foresaw
its destructive powers too late. Nobel preferred not tobe remembered as the inventor of the dynamite, so in
1895, just two weeks before his death, he created a fund to be used for awarding prizes to the people who had
made worldwhile contributions to mankind. Originally, there were five awards: literature, physics, chemistry,
medicine and peace. Economics was added in 1968 , just sixty- seven years after the first award ceremony.
Nobel’s original legacy of nine millions dollars was invested , and the interest on this sum is used for the
awards which vary from $ 30.000 to $ 125.000.

Every year on December 10, the anniversary of Nobel’s death, the awards (gold medal, illuminated
diploma, and money) are presented to the winners. Sometimes politics plays an important role in the judges’
dicisions. Americans have won numerous science awards, but relatively few literature prizes. No awards were
