The Soneplex

Extender Card is an optional main-
tenance device that provides intrusive DS1 jack
access and DS1 monitoring access when used with
ADC's standard T1 Repeater (RLX) or HDSL
Central Office Module (HLXC) in the Soneplex
Loop Extender or Soneplex

Broadband Chassis.
ADC’s Soneplex system is the lowest total cost
solution for carriers to grow their T1 business
services. Focused on providing flexible, end-to-
end solutions, the Soneplex system saves carriers
money on T1-based services over fiber or copper,
using HDSL, ADSL, traditional T1 repeater or
Optical DS2 technology, in a single platform.
From operations, maintenance, provisioning and
high-speed backbone connections to central office
space and cabling, the Soneplex system is de-
signed to take costs out of today’s T1 delivery
approach, adding profit to your bottom line.

• Provides end-to-end performance testing of a DS1 circuit
when far end is in loopback mode
• DS1 monitoring access to output from T1 Repeater or HDSL
module to the network
• Access to DS1 output from T1 Repeater or HDSL module sent
to the network

Description
The Soneplex

Extender Module is a chassis
device that allows a technician to test the
end-to-end performance of a DS1 circuit
when the far-end is in the loopback mode.
The Extender Card is designed primarily for
temporary installation but can be left in the
chassis when extended testing is required.
When using the Extender Card in the
Soneplex

Broadband Chassis, it is necessary
to use the Main Processor Unit (MPU) craft
interface to enable the DS1 interface of the

card being extended.
