<i>"To get someone to do something" suggests that you talked to the person and convinced him to do something.</i>


<i>"To have someone do something" simply states that you arranged for someone to do something, whether or not that person did it </i>
<i>voluntarily.</i>


EX: He had his waiter carry the luggage home.
He had the luggage carried home by the waiter.
I got the postman to post the letter for me.
I had the letter posted for me by the postman.
