Objective:
Place an ISDN BRI to ISDN BRI call from a regional site to the company
central site.
Scenario:
As the WAN engineer for your company, International Travel Agency (ITA),
you are responsible for intersite and Internet connectivity. Regular
monitoring of traffic patterns between the London regional site and company
headquarters in San Jose predicts saturation of the 64Kb/s link within the

next six months. To avoid problems due to congestion, you upgrade to a
router and link supporting ISDN BRI. The ISDN line has been provisioned
and all configurations are complete. London and San Jose engineers report
that after several hours, they have not succeeded in establishing an ISDN
call between sites. You have been requested to assist in troubleshooting.
Step 1
Cable the lab as shown in the diagram.
Load the Lab9-2-3-1-London-BrokenConfig.txt and Lab9-2-3-1-
SanJose3-BrokenConfig.txt configuration files.
Step 2
Start by turning on debug dialer and debug isdn events while
attempting to ping the remote router.

Based on the output of the previous commands, what are some possible
reasons an ISDN call cannot be established between London and
SanJose3?




What is your action plan to resolve the problem and establish ISDN
connectivity between London and SanJose3?




Step 4

Implement your action plan and observe results pinging the remote router
with debug dialer and debug isdn events enabled.




Step 5
Document your work with summary of problem, troubleshooting methods
and resolution.
