them to identify the characters and the setting of the
conversation by asking Who are they? What are they
<i>saying? Check comprehension</i>


- T play the recording more than once.
- Ps listen and repeat.



- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the
charactors speaking.


- Play the recording again for ps to listen and repeat

a. Vocabulary


- T tell ps that they are going to practicse asking
answering questions about someone’s birthday.


- Ps look at the pictures and focus on the months and the
circled dates.


- T teach the months of year: <i>January, February,</i>
<i>March, April, May, June, July, August, September,</i>
<i>October, November, December.</i>


- Check comprehension.


- Ask Ps to repeat each word a few times


- Ask them to point to the picture ps say the date” the
first of January”


b. Model sentences


- Then let one ps ask “ When’ s your birthday?” and
other answers “ It’s on the first of January”


-T write Q&A on the board the class repeat them.



- Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the
pictures. Do choral and individual repetition and then
practice in pairs.


- Call a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the
class. Check as a class and correct pronounciation.


c. Practice


- Ask Ss to practise asking and answering the question
using the puppets as an example.


- Ask Ss to work in pairs to practise asking and
answering the question using the word under each
picture as a cue.


- Select some pairs.

- Remind them to use the real dates of their birthdays.
- Call a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the
class.

- Ps to swap their answers before you check as a class.

- Set a time limit for ps to do the task independently.
- Get ps to swap their answers before checking as a
class.


- Ask some pairs of ps to act out the dialogues in front
of the class

- Tell Ps that they are going write an invitation card to
invite friends to their birthday parties, using read
information about themselves.


- Ps work in pairs to discuss what they are going to
write.


- Focus them on the friendsthey can invite, the date of
party, the time of party and the dress where the party is
held.


- They should put their own names in the from line.
- Check comprehension.


- Give ps time to do the task independently.


- Get them to swap their answers before checking as a
class.


- Call one ps write the answers on the board.


- Encourage them to decorate their invitation cards and
ask the class to vote for the three best cards.
