<b>I. Tobe:</b>


a. Câu khẳng định.= The positive form
I + am =’m


He / She / It + is =’s
You / We / They + are =’re


b. Câu nghi vấn ( Đưa tobe lên trước chủ ngữ)


Are + you / they / (we) ...? Yes, I am/we/they are . No,I/we/they+ be + not
Is + he / she / it ...? Yes, he / she/it is. No,he / she / it is not.
- Wh-questions: How (old) + be + S?, What + be + your/his name(s)?
c. Câu phủ định. ( thêm ‘not’ sau động từ tobe)


I + am not
He / She / It + is not
You / We / They + are not


Notes: Động từ “be” chỉ tình trạng của chủ ngữ, động từ được chia theo các ngơi.
- Dùng trong các tình huống sau: giới thiệu bản thân, hỏi tên người nào đó, hỏi thăm


sức khỏe, hỏi về tuổi tác.

a. Th«ng thường thêm s vào sau danh t s ít


b. Nu N tn cùng bng y- Trc-y là mt nguyên âm ta thêms.
- Trc -y là mt ph ©m ta đổi “y” thµnh “ies”


c. N tận cïng bằng “f/fe” ta thay”f/fe” bằng -“ves”


- Ngoại lệ c¸c từ sau ta thªm “s” : roof, froof (chứng cớ), chief (người chỉ huy),
handkerchief, safe,(kÐt,tủ sắt), belief (niềm tin), chef (bếp trưởng)



d. N tận cùng bằng “o”: - Trước o là mt nguên âm ta thêm s. - Trc o là
mt ph âm ta thêm es


- Ngoi l: các t sau ch thêm s : piano, photo , kilo, dynamo(máy phát
in),solo (c xng,mt mình),auto(xe hi),grotto(hang),motto(khu hiu)
e. N tận cùng bằng: “s, x, sh, ch, z” ta thêm “es”


f. Danh từ dạng số Ýt nhưng nghĩa số nhiều: people, police, cattle, public, clergy
* Pronunciation: /s/ = ts, ps, ks ; /iz/ = ses , ches ,shes , xes , ces , ges , zes
/vz/ = ves ; /z/ =the left words


* Review Vocabulary: change them into plural nouns


- Đồ đạc trong nhà: couch , armchair, lamp, telephone , bookshelf, television ,
stereo , bench.


- NghỊ nghiƯp: doctor, nurse, engineer , teacher.


- Thành viên trong gia đình: father, mother, brother, sister.

<b>I. Prepositions</b>


<b>1. Prepositions of time: at, in , on</b>


- at: lúc -> + hours – Eg: at six thirteen // + age -> at the age of six


Exept: at night về đêm , at Christmas vào lễ giáng sinh , at Easter vào lễ phục sinh ,
at / on weekend vào ngày cuối tuần


- on : vào-> + days >on Monday// +buổi của ngày trong tuần->On Monday morning.
- in : vào+ mounths / years / -> in May -> in 2007 - hay thời gian dài hơn


+ buổi của ngày: -> in the morning / after noon / evening.


Notes: Cụm từ chỉ thời gian thường được viết ở cuối câu hoặc đầu câu

Chỉ sự cho phÐp. Có thể. You can park here.
-> Can’t: Chỉ sự cấm . Kh«ng được. You can’t turn left


* Must: diễn tả sự bắt buộc(an obligation) hay sự cần thiết (the necessity)
- Cã tính cách cá nhân. I must do the exercises every day.


- Của chÝnh sự kiện (cã tÝnh quy tắc). We must drive on the right.
- Cã tÝnh c¸ch mệnh lệnh: You must do your homework.


* Must not=mustn’t: kh«ng được. Chỉ sự ngăn cấm (a prohibition).You mustn’t
talk in class. -> Musn’t = can’t


* Needn’t : kh«ng phải, kh«ng cần: Phản nghĩa của “must”



Must we …? No,You needn’t. He must come here tomorrow but I needn’t
- Ss make sentences using those structures.


- Ss do one by one or Teacher gives cues to Ss to make sentences.
