Knowledge::By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:  Read and say the three Dd words correctly Vocabulary : dog, drum, dragon 2. Skills: Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing 3.Attitude: Recognize and pronounce the letter Dd and its sound correctly *(Requirements: students with disability can see and say). II. Teaching aids 1. Teacher’s:i-Learn My Phonics Grade 1 , lesson plan, CD Phonics cards .  2. Students’: Pupil’s Book –p.9 i-Learn My Phonics Grade 1, Activity book – p.17. . II.Teaching methods  -Communicative approach.  -Techniques:+ Ask and answer (say individually)  + Work in pairs/ groups. Discuss. IV. Procedures:Time: 35’-40’ 1 . Point to it and say: /d/ - doll. Ask them to repeat  Mime holding a doll and say /d/, doll  Encourage the students to do the same  Say the letter and ask students do the action  Play the CD  Ask students to listen, point and repeat the word  7.2 Colour the pictures of the words that start with the d sound. Say the d words (7 mins). 7. Listen. Point and repeat. Colour the pictures of thw words that start with d sound. Say d words (Track 25) (12mins) 7.1 Listen, point and repeat (5 mins.  Point to pictures and have students name them  Name some colours and ask the students to repeat  Ask the students to colour the pictures which have Dd in them Give the students 4 minutes to colour in the ‘drum’ and ‘dog’. Go around the classroom providing any necessary help (Requirements: students with disability can see and paint 2 pictures Activity: Craftwork (10mins)  Ask the students to take out their notebooks  Ask them to choose one word and then draw the letter and the picture in their notebooks  Tell them to colour the letter and the picture  The three first students who finish will show their picture to the class. 7.2 Colour the pictures of the words that start with the d sound. Say the d words (7 mins).

The letter d says /d/”  Have the class repeat its sound chorally, then individually  Have the students say the sound individually, correct the pronunciation if necessary. Writing & Speaking  Demonstrate how to write the big D stroke by stroke      . Draw an example of letter D using dashed lines Use a different colored chalk to model tracing the letter D Have some students practice tracing letter D on the board Have students trace letter D in the books Students say /d/ after each finished letter Go around to give help if necessary.
