Materials
This activity will require:

Blank sheets of paper.

A flip chart.
!
Instructions handed out by the instructor.

Time to complete this activity: 15 minutes followed by a 10 minute
discussion.

Exercise 1: Component Communication Before COM

Communicate with the other components
1. Participate in small groups as assigned by the instructor.
2. The instructor will give you a sheet of paper with specific instructions.
3. Follow the instructions on the piece of paper.

You should not communicate with the other group members except as
indicated by the instructions.

Exercise 2: Component Communication Using COM (5 minutes)

Communicate with the other components
1. Participate in small groups as assigned by the instructor.
2. Use the instructions from Exercise 1.
3. Write your interface on a piece of paper and place it in front of you so that
the rest of the group can read it.
You should not communicate with the other group members except as
indicated by the instructions.

After completing the above steps, you will discuss the activity with the class.
