There are some exceptions you need to remember when adding er or est to an adjective to

form its comparative or superlative form
1. An adjective ends with:
A vowel ( V ) + a consonant ( C ) -> V + C + C + er/est

hot - > hottest
wet - > wettest thin - > thinnest
2. Some adjectives don’t follow the rules above such as:

* Các trạng từ chỉ tần suất dung để mô tả mức độ dày, đều đặn hay thưa thớt của các hành
động. Các trạng từ này dung để trả lời cho câu hỏi “ How often……….?”.
* Với mức độ đều đặn lớn nhất ta dung “always”: luôn luôn, rồi tần suất thưa dần theo thứ
tự “ usually”: thường thường, “often”: thường hay, “sometimes”: đôi khi, thỉnh thoảng, cho
đến mức không hề xảy ra với “never”: không bao giờ.
Always (100%): luôn luôn
Usually (99% - 90%): thường thường

Sometimes (75% - 25%): đôi khi, thỉnh thoảng

+ Riêng các trạng từ chỉ tần suất thì đứng cuối câu.
