Aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: describe people’s appearance (Build and hair), guess people by description and introduce people. II. Knowledge:. 1. Vocabulary: * Build: tall, short, small, big, thin, fat, slim, slender * Hair: long, short, straight, curly, bald, black, dark, blond, fair, brown 2.Grammar: * Simple tenses * Attributive and predicative III. Skills: Speaking, Listening and Writing B.Teaching aids: Textbook, pictures, chalk, board, …. C.Teaching procedure: Stages I. Warm-up (8’). II.New lesson. 1. Presentation (8’). Teacher’s activities -get 2 pairs of sts to practice the dialogue between Hoa and Lan before the class -ask sts questions: 1. Who is Nien? Where does she live? 2. Is Nien younger or older than Hoa? 3. When is she going to visit Hoa? * Key: 1. Nien is Hoa’s next-door neighbor./ Nien is Hoa’s friend. She lives in Hue. 2. She is younger than Hoa. 3. She is going to visit Hoa at Christmas. -Hang a picture on the board and ask sts “What does she look like?/ Is she tall or short? Thin/ fat/ slim? What about her hair?” -introduce the objectives of this lesson (describe people’s appearance). Students’activities -practice the dialogue between Hoa and Lan in front of the class (2 pairs) -answer the teacher’s questions (Individually). -look at the picture and answer the teacher’s questions (Whole class) -listen. to. the. teacher’s.

He is Mr. Khoi. -get sts to describe to play the game “guessing people” -go around the class to check sts’work and offer help -give remarks and correct mistake(s) if necessary 3. Production Let sts listen to the tape and complete each dialogue with the expressions in (11’) the box (each dialogue is listened 2 times) -let sts listen to each dialogue again and check their answers. -repeat in chorus -read the words individually. -look at the pictures. -listen to the teacher’s description and guess who he is (Guessing game) -play the game (describe people in the pictures) (Pairwork) -present before the class -Listen to the tape and complete the dialogues with the expressions in the box (Individually) -compare their answers with friends -listen to each dialogue again and check their answers.
