Identify your answer by writing the corresponding letter A, B, c or D on your answer sheet. The symptoms of hay fever include watery and itchy eyes and a runny, congested nose.People suffering from hay fever may experience occasional wheezing and repeated bouts of sneezing and may even lose theừ sense of smell. Some victims of hay fever may also have stopped-up ears. About 30 percent of those who suffer from hay fever may develop the symptoms associated with periodic asthma or a smus infection. The allergen-antibody theory does not fully explain allergic reactions because the membranes and glands in eyes and ears are controlled by the independent nervous system, which keeps these organs in balance. But the independent nervous system itself is part of the emotional-response center and may cause the feelings of anger, fear, resentment, and lack of self-confidence in reaction to allergy-causing substances. The most conunon cause of hay fever is the pollen of ragweed, which blossoms during the summer and autumn. When airbome pollen particles, as well as mold, come into contact with the victim’s membranes, they can cause allergic reactions that release histamine and result in virtual blockage of air passages. To prevent hay fever or to decrease the severity of its symptoms, contact with the ragweed pollen should be reduced. Although some communities have attempted to eliminate the plants that cause the reactions, elimination programs have not been successful because airbome pollen can travel considerable distances. Anti-histamine can help with short but severe attacks. Over extended periods of time, however, patients are prescribed a series of injections of the substance to which they are sensitive in order to increase immunity and thus be relieved of the seasonal allergy..

(15 pts) Sometimes tourists may damage tourist sites. Explain what some o f the negative effects may be. Suggest some solutions to this problem. SAMPLE WRITING It is well know that tourism industry brings enormous benefit to a country’s development. In fact, for many citizens of some exotic realms, it may be one of the major sources of income. While the growing tourism sector poses a threat to a scenic spots, habitat and ecosystem. While there are several reason for this alarming, some effective measures can be taken by government to tackle this problem. Firstly, to tackle the problem of travelers damaging the flora, fauna or even historical landmark. Administration should motivated tourists to cooperate in the preservation and conservation of natural beauty of tourist spots. Besides, the state should imposed strict penalties to visitors who disobey the rules and regulations. For example, government may detain of fine a tourist who cause damage or vandalism to touristic sites. Secondly, in area with high concentrations of tourist activities and appealing natural attractions, waste disposal is a serious problem and improper disposal can be a major despoiler of the natural environment, river and scenic areas. For instance, tourists in Port Dickson are estimated to produce more than fifty thousand tons of waste each year. Likewise, solid waste can de degrade the physical appearance of the beach and cause death of marine animals. Therefore, authority should be encouraged to allocate more volunteers to the places visited by sightseers in order to publicity the proper ways to dispose wastes. In summary, I believe that by imposing the strict penalties on tourists is at best a short-term solution to preserve touristic sites. If we wish to relief from this situation, though educating tourists is likely to be the key to making this happen.. Hết LISTENING TAPESCRIPT (with .MP3 audio file) Test 1. (8) Man. Pan Asian Airways. John speaking. Can I help you? Woman. Yes please. I left something on one of your planes last night. I got this number from the operator. Is this the right number to call? M. Yes, madam. This is the right number. I just need you tell me your name to start with so I can fill out a lost property form. W. Kirsty Allen. That’s K-I-R-S-T-Y A-L-L-E-N. So, Kirsty is the correct answer. Now we begin. You should answer the questions as you listen, as the recording is not played twice. Listen carefully to the conversation and answer questions 1 to 5. Man. Pan Asian Airways. John speaking. Can I help you? Wom. Yes please. I left something on one of your planes last night. I got this number from the operator. Is this the right number to call? M. Yes, madam. This is the right number. I just need you to tell me your name to start with so I can fill out a lost property form. W. Kirsty Allen. That’s K-I-R-S-T-Y A-L-L-E-N. M. Right. I’ve got that. Now what happened last night? W. Well, I was on a flight last night from New York to London that landed at 12.30am. We were delayed a while in New York so that when we eventually landed, I was so tired that I accidentally left my handbag on the plane.. M. Did you report this to anyone last night? W. No, I’m afraid not. I didn’t notice until I got home and then it was really too late to phone. M. Very well madam. Let me take a few details for this form and I’ll see what I can do. OK, so the name was Kirsty Allen. And what’s the address please? W. 48 Windham Road, Richmond. M. The postcode? W. RI6 GH7. M. Good. I’ve got that. Now, your telephone number? W. Well, my home number is 020 8927 7651 and my mobile is 07754 897 432. M. I’m sorry. I didn’t catch the second one. What was the mobile again? W. 0 double 7 54 897 432. M. Thanks. Now, do you know the flight number of the plane that you were on last night? W. Oh yes, hang on a second. I’ve got my boarding pass stub right here. Err; the flight number was PA 356. No, I’m sorry, PA365. That’s it: 365. M. And does the boarding card stub say what seat you had? W. Oh yes. It was E6. M. And you said that it was New York to London Heathrow. Is that right? W. Yes, that’s right. Before the conversation continues, you have some time to look at questions 6 to 10. (20 second gap) Now listen carefully and answer questions 6 to 10. M. OK then. Now I have to take some details about the bag that you lost. It was a handbag, yes? W. That’s right. M. Can you describe it to me? W. Well, I guess it just looks like any regular handbag. It’s very dark red with black handles and the catch on the top is gold coloured. M. Does it have any distinguishing marks? W. Not really. It’s quite new, you see, so I haven’t scratched it or anything. It’s got a brand name but that’s just inside the bag when you open it, under the catch. M. OK. Now, can you tell me what was inside the bag? W. Quite a few things actually. Not my passport of course or I would never have got out of the airport. My purse is inside and that’s got about 200 dollars and about 70 pounds cash. There is also my credit card and some membership cards. M. Good. I’ll just write that down. Anything else in the bag?.

(9) W. A small paperback that I was reading, some makeup, my work keys, but not my house keys, thank God, and a couple of pens. M. Have you informed the police about the loss of the card? W. Yes, and I’ve also cancelled the card with the credit company. M. Right. Now what I’ll do is to contact the lost property, which is where your bag will have gone if it was found. I’ll give you a call back within an hour and tell you what the situation is. If you haven’t had a call within an hour and a half, call back this number and ask for me. My name is John. OK? W. Yes, that’s great John. I’ll speak to you later. Goodbye. M. Goodbye.. Phạm Thái Bạch Mai.
