Complex sentences: includes one independent clause, and at least one dependent clause which can be put before or after the independent one. We use some common conjunctions such as when, while, because, although, eventhough, if, … to form a dependent clause. Ex: Although Tom tried to get up early, he went to work late. (dependent clause). (independent clause). 6. UNIT 6 1. Past continuous tense: a.
