Knowledge and skills: By the end of this lesson, students will gain the following: Vocabulary: pool, balcony, garage, yard, gym, apartment. Useful expression: Excuse me. Grammar: Simple present (+) Students will be able to talk about people’s homes and get someone’s attention. 2. Competencies: - Students work in pairs, in groups and individually to develop the linguistic competence and communicative competence using the lexical items related to the topic ‘Home”. - Use knowledge to complete the exercises, practice language aspects in communicative situation. - Develop some abilities such as self- management, problem - solving and collaboration. 3. Qualities: - Students are active to broaden and percept the knowledge - Students will build their love for family, homes and classmates and have responsibility for doing housework. - They will have the good attitude to working in groups, individual work, pair work, cooperative learning. II. Teaching aids: - Teacher’s aids: student book and teacher’s book, class CDs, flashcards, ISB software, projector/interactive whiteboard/TV. - Students’ aids: Student books, notebooks, workbooks. Activity 1: Warm up: a) Objective: - To create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class before the lesson; - To give T and Ss a chance to introduce themselves - To lead into the unit b) Content: - Review and introduce new words about the topic “Home” c) Product: Students understand and have general ideas about the topic “Home” d)Competence: Collaboration, communication, analytical skill e) Organization of the activity: What is in the picture? - T divides the class into 4 groups. - T shows a picture about home and asks Ss to watch carefully. - Ss watch the picture - After watching, each group has 2 minutes to take notes things they saw from the picture. - The winner is the group which has more correct answers Suggested answers: - big house - cups - two floors - balcony - yard - door - trees - windows - table ….. - chairs - flowers B. Activity 2: Introduce new language a) Objective: - Students can identify, understand the situation and language materials (new vocabulary items). Students can also develop their critical thinking skills (guessing/ reasoning). b) Content: - Learn and use language materials (Section: New words page 6). - Matching: Listening exercise on the topic “Home” c) Products: Students know how to pronounce the new words correctly and use them in appropriate situation. d)Competence: Collaboration, communication, critical thinking e) Organization of the activity:.

D. Activity 4: Listening Skill a) Objective: Students make questions or answer the questions to develop a conversation, and they can aslo finish the listening task in the textbook. Critical thinking skills (guessing/ reasoning) and communication can also be practiced. b) Content: Students ask and answer the questions, make sentences/ dialogues. Do one listening exercise. c) Products: Students produce the new language successfully and then can finish the listening exercise. d) Organization of the activity: Teacher’s activities and Students’ activities. Knowledge and skills: By the end of this lesson, students will gain the following: Vocabulary: review the words (pool, balcony, garage, yard, gym, apartment) Grammar: Present simple (affirmative, negative, interrogative form) + I / you / we / they + live & he / she / it + lives - S + don’t / doesn’t live ? Yes, S + do/does. / No, S + don’t/doesn’t. Pronunciation: intonation of Y/N questions Students will ask Y/N questions (present simple) using the correct pronunciation feature and use them to exchange information about their homes. 2.
