About This Chapter
This section describes how to install the fiber spool box.

and the box.
8.1 Installation Position of the Fiber Spool Box
The fiber spool box is used to spool fiber jumpers and hold the optical attenuators.
It can accommodate 4 x 10 m fiber jumpers and hold eight fixed or tunable
attenuators.
If the cabinet holds two OSN 3500 subracks, install the fiber spool box at the third
hole from the bottom of the cabinet, more than 50 mm away from the subrack.

If the cabinet holds only one OSN 3500 subrack, install the fiber spool box above
the orderwire fixing frame.
Figure 1.1 and Figure 1.2 show the fiber spool box.

8.2 Installing the Plate and the Box
Purpose

This procedure guides you to install the fiber spool box into
the cabinet.
Tools /Materials
Cross screwdriver
Optical attenuator
Prerequisites
The cabinet and the subrack are installed.

Required
Step 1 Secure the box in cabinet with two panel screws. See Figure 1.1.

Step 2 Fix the optical attenuators in the plate.
Step 3 Spool the fibers in the plate. See Chapter 10 "Installing and Routing the Fiber
Jumpers".
Step 4 Fix the plate.
