- Listen to a song: Good morning to you. ( page 7)
II. New lesson:
1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Set the scene: How many picturres are there? Who are they? Where are they?
What are they doing?
- Ask Ss to listen and repeat from twice to three times.


- Ask Ss to work in pair.
- Call some Ss to roleplay the dialogues in the pictures
- Correct the pronunciation
- Help Ss understand the meaning of the dialogues
- Note Ss some vocabulary and sentence patterns.

- Ss’ book, chalk, board, radio, Cd, ect.
D. Procedures:
I. Warm - up
- Let’s sing : Have S sing the song Good morning ( p7)
- Listen again and do some actions with T
II. New lesson:
1. Look, listen and repeat
- Tell S that they are going to learn to greet and say goodbye formally.
- Have S look at 3 pictures and guess :
Who are they?
Where are they?
What are they talking about?
Then T gives feedback in 3 pictures
- Play the recording for S to listen and repeat. Do chorally and individually
repetition.

- Play the record for S to listen and say along.
2. Point and say
- Tell S that they are going to practice greeting and saying goodbye formally.
- Have them look at the pictures and understand how the language is used in
different contexts. Point to picture a&b and elicit the language to say goodbye.
Ask them to say chorally and individually. Have S to look at picture c and say
he situation then give the language is used. T give feedback and S repeat .
- Have S to practice in pairs and then demonstrate
- T comment and correct pronunciation
3. Let’s talk
- Tell S that they are going to chant and remember the way how to greet and say
goodbye.
- T model and S repeat chorally.
- Chant and remember by rub out word by word.
- S chant without looking at the languages.

goodbye and number correctly

Review greeting and saying goodbye.

- Ss’ book, chalk, board, radio, Cd, ect.
D. Procedures:


I..Warm-up ( 5 min)
- T greets and say good bye with some S and have S respond
- T have class do chorally
II. New lesson:
4. Listen and number ( 10 min )
- Tell S that they are going to listen to dialogues and number the picyures
orderly
- Have S look at the pictures and identify : name, similarities, time of the day,…
- Check understanding
- Play CD for S to listen and number a few time. T hen ask S to compare the
answers together.
- Then ask S to listen and check.
- T asks S to give the answers and correct.
2. Look and write ( 10 min )
- Tell S that they are going to look and complete the dialogues.
- Have S look at the pictures and identify : time of the day, names…
- Have S fill in gaps with the partners.
- T give S time to do the task. Go around and help if necessary.
- Get S swap the answers before checking as a class.
- Have S do chorally the dialogues a few time.
3. Let’s play ( 10 min )
- Tell S that they are going to play Bingo Game
- Set the table on the board and have S choose a column and copy in a paper,
read aloud word by word in a column, S compare with their own and say bingo
as fast as possible.

Lesson 3 (1, 2, 3)
A. Aim:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to practice the phonics “l” in “Linda”

and “n” in “night”.
B. Language focus:
* Phonics: Linda night
C. Teaching aids:
- Ss’ book, chalk, board, recording.
D. Procedures:
I. Warm-up
- T greets and say good bye with some Ss and have Ss respond
- T have class do chorally
II. New lesson:


1. Listen and repeat:
- Tell ss that they are going to practice saying the sounds of the letters l and n in
the words Linda and night respectively.
- First, put the letters l and n on the board. Play the recording and ask ss to
repeat a few times. Then write the words Linda and night and the phrases Hello,
Linda and Good night on the board.
- Play the recording a few times and let ss say the words and the phrases, paying
attentionto the target letters.
- Do choral and individual repetitionof the sound, words and phrases until ss feel
confident.
- Get some ss to perform in front of the class. Check as a class and correct the
pronunciation, if necessary.
2. Listen and circle. Then write and say aloud.
- Tell ss that they are going to listen to the recording, circle the correct option (a
or b) and then write the words in the blanks.
- Give them a few seconds to read the sentences in silence and guess the words
(a or b) to fill in the gaps.
- Have ss listen to the recording twice and circle the appropriate options.

- Allow them to do the task independently.
- Give ss time to write the wors in the gaps independently.
- Go around and offer help.
- Have ss swap their answers before checking as a class.
3. Let’s chant.
- Tell ss that they are going to say the “ Hello, friends” chant. Read the chant
and check comprehension.
- Play the recording a few times for ss to do choral and individual repetition.
Show ss how to chant and do the actions. Call two groups of four to give a
desmonstration.
- Get groups of ss to sit face to face and practice chating and doing the actions.
Go around to offer help.
- Call two groups to the front of the class to chant and do the actionc. The rest of
the class claps along to the rhythm of the chant.

A. Aim:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to read and write about themselves
(name, hometown and school).
C. Language focus:
Revision of sentence patterns and vocabulary.
C. Teaching aids:
- Ss’ book, chalk, board, ...

D. Procedures:
I. Warm-up
- Read the chant on page 10 individually and chorally.
II. New lesson:
5. Read and answer:
- Tell ss that they are going to read the two texts and answer the four questions.
- Get ss to read the first text and focus on the information to answer the first two
questions (what the girl’s name is and where she is from).
- Ask ss ro read the second text to answer the last two questions independently.
- Go around and offer help.
- Get ss to swap their answers before checking as a class. If there is enough time,
let some pairs ask and answer the questions.


5. Write about you
- Tell ss that they are going to write a short paragraph about themselves.
- Have them work in groups of 4 to discuss what they are going to write. Focus
ss on their names, theirs hometown, the name of their school and the class they
are in. Check comprehension.
- Give ss time to do the task independently. Go around and offer help if
necessary.
- Get them to swap their answer before checking as a class. If there is time, ask
non pupil to write the answer on the board. The rest of the class gives
comments.
6. Project
- Tell ss that they are going to make a card for themselves and then look at their
classsmate’s card and tell the teacher about him/ her.
- Give ss time to do the project in class. Get ss to work in groups. Go around to
offer help.
- Call some ss to the front of the class to look at their classsmate’s card and tell

the teacher about him/ her.

Then T gives feedback in 3 pictures
- Play the recording for S to listen and repeat. Do chorally and individually

- Play the record for S to listen and say along.

A. Aim:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to practice the phonic ‘‘j ” in “ Japan”

and “v” in “Vietnamese’’

Teaching aids: Ss’ book, recording.
B. Procedures:
1. Warm-up
- T asks S about nationality and where some is from to some Ss and have Ss
respond

What nationality are you?
- T have class do chorally
2. Listen and repeat:
- Tell ss that they are going to practice saying the sounds of the letters j and v
in the words Japan and Vietnamese respectively.
- First, put the letters j and v on the board. Play the recording and ask ss to
repeat a few times. Then write the words Japan and Vietnamese and the phrases
on the board.
- Play the recording a few times and let ss say the words and the phrases, paying
attentionto the target letters.
- Do choral and individual repetitionof the sound, words and phrases until ss feel
confident.
- Get some ss to perform in front of the class. Check as a class and correct the
pronunciation, if necessary.
