- Được dùng để diễn tả hành động sự việc được lặp đi lặp lại nhiều lần, thói quen

- Được dùng để diễn tả một sự thật hiển nhiên

- Được dùng để diễn tả thời gian biểu, kế hoạch, dự đoán,…….

I. Possessive case:
– Câu “cái vườn của cha tơi” có thể diễn đạt bằng hai cách:
Dùng giới từ “of”
The garden of my father.

Dùng cách sở hữu
My father’s garden.

Quy tắc:
– Đặt “my father” (danh từ chỉ người có quyền sở hữu) lên trên.

– Thêm “s” vào ngay đằng sau danh từ đó.
– Danh từ chỉ vật thuộc quyền sỏ hữu đứng sau “s” và bỏ mạo từ “the”.
– Chú ý: Đối với danh từ số nhiều đã có s rồi, chỉ thêm dấu ‘, nhưng đối với danh từ riêng
tận cùng bằng s, thường cũng vẫn thêm ‘s (trừ một vài trường hợp dặc biệt).
