UNIT 2: SCHOOL
Lesson 1 - Part 1 (Page 14) - Vocabulary and Listening
I. OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
1.Knowledge
- memorize the lexical items to talk about school subjects.
- use vocabulary and structure “ Do you like….?” to talk about school subjects they
like or don’t like.
- use some sentences / phrases to pass turn to someone after finishing speaking.
2. Competences.
- list the subjects at school by working in collaboration with others
- apply the vocabulary about school subjects to listen for gist and details.
3. Quality
- form accountability by working in pairs and groups to list the school subjects.
- have diligence to use the lexical items and structure to talk abut the school subject
they like or don’t like.
II. TEACHING AIDS AND LEARNING MATERIALS
Lesson plan, PPT slides, student’s book, workbook, notebook, personal computer (if
any), projector/TV, speakers, DCR & DHA on EDUHOME, handouts…
III. PROCEDURES
A. Warm up: Fip the puzzle piece (5’)
a) Objectives: to review the previous lesson about the housework and to introduce the
new lesson about subjects at school. Set the scene for Ss to acquire new language;
b) Content: review old lesson and introduce the topic of the lesson about the school
subjects.
c) Product: list of some subjects they used to learn and get to know some new ones.
d) Organization of the activity:

a) Objective: Ssknow more about school subjects and talk about what subjects they like

b) Content: Ss pronounce the subjects correctly and use them in appropriate situations.
c) Products: list of vocabulary about school subjects.
d) Organization of the activity:

detail
c) Products: - utterances about the listening content between Adrian and Sarah.
- a mini talk using words and phrases to pass their turn after speaking.
d) Organization of the activity:
