1. Đại cương về y đức
Ethics có liên can tới nguyên tắc đạo đức, giá trị và
các chuẩn mực thực hiện ( moral principles, values
and standards of conduct.(WHO)
Ethics is the study of morality – careful
and systematic reflection on and analysis of
moral decisions and behaviour. #
Morality is the value dimension of human
decision-making and behaviour.

The Greek word ethike means THÓI QUEN
(habit ), HÀNH ĐỘNG (action) , ĐẶC
TRƯNG (character.)
The Latin word mos (morals) means THÓI
QUEN (habit) or PHONG TỤC (custom.)
In simple words, đạo đức là các niềm tin và
thực hành liên quan tới sự phân biệt ĐÚNG
và SAI
(Ethics is a set of philosophical beliefs and practices concerned
with the distinction between right and wrong.)

Y đức là ngành của đạo đức liên quan tới
các khía cạnh đạo đức trong thực hành y
học ( Medical Ethics is the branch of ethics that
deals with moral issues in medical practice.)

Whereas medical ethics focuses primarily
on issues arising out of the practice of
medicine, bioethics is a very broad subject
that is concerned with the moral issues
raised by developments in the biological
sciences more generally.

The conventional laws, customs of courtesy and
the code of conduct governing the relationship of
the physician with his professional colleagues.

In recent times medical ethics has been
greatly influenced by developments in human
rights.
Physicians frequently have to deal with
medical problems resulting from violations of
human rights, such as cưỡng bức di trú forced
migration and sự tra tấn ( torture.)

Medical ethics is also closely related to law.
Quite often ethics prescribes higher standards
of behaviour than does the law, and
occasionally ethics requires that physicians
disobey laws that demand unethical behaviour.

Ethical principles such as respect for persons,
informed consent and confidentiality are basic to
the physician-patient relationship.
Application of these principles in specific
situations is often problematic , since
physicians, patients, their family members and
other healthcare personnel may disagree about
what is the right way to act in a situation.

professionals to recognize difficult
situations and to deal with them in a rational
and principled manner.
Ethics is also important in physicians’
interactions with society and their
colleagues and for the conduct of medical

3. Năm nguyên lý của y đức
1. Sự tự chủ (Autonomy)
Bệnh nhân được tự do suy nghĩ, mong muốn và hành động
khi ra các quyết định liên quan tới tiến trình chăm sóc sức
khỏe . (Patient has freedom of thought, intention and action when
making decisions regarding health care procedures.
Bệnh nhân phải được thông báo đầy đủ về các quyết định .
Bệnh nhân phải hiểu được tất cả các nguy cơ và lợi ích
trong tiến trình và khả năng thành cơng . ( For a patient to make
a fully informed decision, she/he must understand all risks and benefits
of the procedure and the likelihood of success. )

Sự tự chủ Autonomy
Sự tự chủ bao gồm cả việc phải nói
sự thật và trung thành với các cam
kết
(This includes the need to tell the
truth (veracity) and to be faithful to
one’s commitments (fidelity).

2. Lợi ích Beneficence
Thầy thuốc phải hành động với phương chăm
bệnh nhân là trên hết – tiến trình y khoa là cung
cấp cái tốt nhất cho bệnh nhân
Hạnh phúc , phúc lợi của bệnh nhân phải được
xem xét trước hết và trên hết
(Patient’s welfare is the first consideration.

3. Sự tin cậy (Confidentiality)
Dự trên nguyên tắc trung thành và tin cậy.
(Based on loyalty and trust.)
Duy trì sự tin cậy trên tất cả thơng tin chẩn đốn,
điều trị, dự hậu , y học nói chung và cá nhân .
Thơng tin cần cho thấy , bộc lộ ra lợi ích cho
bệnh nhân khi có các yêu cầu xem xét về y đức và
về pháp lý ( Information to be revealed for the
benefit of the patient and when ethically and
legally required. )

4. Không làm tổn hại Do no harm/
Non-maleficence
“Above all, do no harm”
Phải đảm bảo chắc chắn rằng tiến
trình y khoa khơng làm hại cho bệnh
nhân và người khác trong xã hội
(Make sure that the procedure does
not harm the patient or others in
society. )

When interventions undertaken by
physicians create a positive outcome while
also potentially doing harm it is known as
the "double effect."
Eg,.
the use of morphine in the dying
patient. eases pain and suffering while
hastening the demise through suppression of
the respiratory drive.

Justice)
Fair and equal distribution of scarce health
resources, and the decision of who gets
what treatment.
The burdens and benefits of new or
experimental treatments must be distributed
equally among all groups in society.

Hippocratic Oath
One of the earliest document in medical
ethics – 5th century BC.
Traditionally all doctors recite this oath
at swearing in. It is considered sacred for
its religious foundation and sanctity.
Nuremberg Code - 1948
Declaration of Geneva
Adopted at World Medical Association
General Assembly in 1948.
Amended in 1968, 1984, 1994, 2005 and
2006.
Declaration of physicians’ dedication to
the humanitarian goals of medicine.
