Body part 3: Financial barriers
● Lack of budgets which are
used for e-commerce
development such as
building website, advertising,
technological management
systems, etc.
● Lack of budgets to train
employees how to use an
online operational system.

Small and medium companies (lack of experience and finance)
have difficulty competing with large companies that have
already existed:
Why competition from large companies is a barrier?
It is a fact that a company that pioneers in the specific business
sector could properly develop brand awareness and gain loyalty
from customers ahead of other companies in the same field. The
following companies in this domain would face challenges
regarding lack of market share and customers’ attention.
How does the competition affect SMEs?
Tiki is an e-commerce platform established in 2010 with a modest
start of selling books. => a barrier for several start-up bookselling
websites, namely Waka, Bookbuy, and Anybook.
What is the solution for them?
● “Blue Ocean Strategy=>companies can avoid rivalry and create
their own place in the market.
● Focus on a specific product for the e-commerce market rather
than investigate numerous products that do not suit the
company’s strength.
● Take action fastly. In other words, those companies should give
discounts to keep the loyalty of the customers. Also, analyzing
purchasers’ feedback and ameliorating the quality of the
product in order to fulfill the demand of customers.

Argument 3
More than anything, paying for everybody’s
education is not only an incredible burden on the
government and taxpayers but also proves to be
problematic for the funding of universities. How
would professors and faculty members be paid?
And how about resources and research?
Universities of all caliber and ranking need a
colossal amount of funding, and it’s unfair to
burden the government and limit the university’s
potential with free tertiary education. Furthermore,
unnecessary conflicts between universities may
happen since it is hard to decide how much fees

those universities can get. Therefore, (besides the
university free) government will need to spend extra
money to create a sophisticated system to calculate
the taxes and decide the right amount of fees to
give to the University. To sum up, I believe university
education should not be free.

Debate note

Rebuttal 3
● I believe that university education shouldn’t be

free. Firstly, it’s worth pointing out that in many
instances, students don't have to bear the cost
of university alone. There are merit and needbased scholarships, financial aid, work-study
programs, and government funding to make
the university more financially attainable for
young people. While I’m not saying that these
financial grants are perfect by any means, I
believe that the system we have in place
rewards those who need the extra support or
who demonstrate academic or extracurricular
excellence.
Tax money should be used to help poor people,
fix the public facilities, and ensure social
security rather than distribute it to education
which wealthy people could take advantage of
it
