To express our own view about the future :

I expect that we’ll see further growth in this sector.

To express degrees of possibility, we use the following
structures with the adverbs such as definitely /
ˈdef.ɪ.nət.li/ adverb without any doubt :[ nhất định là],

Possibly /ˈpɒs.ə.bli/ /ˈpɑː.sə-/ adverb NOT CERTAIN
•
: có lẽ, có thể : used when something is not certain
•
He may possibly decide not to com

probably /ˈprɒb.ə.bli/ /ˈprɑː.bə-/ adverb
•

used to mean that something is very likely
•

•
A. CERTAIN : chắc chắn
Definitely : S+ will + definitely + v-bare-inf
•
= S+ be(am/is/are)+ definitely+ going to + V-bare-inf
•
E.g The recent oil crisis will definitely have an effect on
the market price.
•
B. LIKELY : có thể xãy ra
•
1. probably : S+ will + probably + v-bare-inf
•
= S+ be(am/is/are)+ probably+ going to + V-bare-inf
•
= There is a good/ strong possibility that +S+ will/can+ V-

•
= It’s likely (that) + S will/can + v-bare
•
We are probably going to have to charge extra.
•
There is a good/ strong possibility we can make cuts.

B. POSSIBLE : có lẽ : POSSIBLY
•

•

E.g
