ACKNOWLEDGMENT
In the process of completing this report, I have applied the knowledge of
Commercial English major studied at the Thuong Mai University, Sales knowledge
when taking part in AIESEC organization in two years, as well as conducted research
and analysis of the organization and succession process at Savvycom Joint Stock
Company. Because self-knowledge is still limited, the practice time is not long enough
so the report cannot reflect all aspects of existing problems, and certain limitations and
errors. Therefore, I hope to receive comments from teachers, classmate and interested
people to complete the internship report.
In order to finish my internship and complete my report, I have received
enthusiastic help from many people. It would be a mistake if I did not thank those who
have cared for, helped and guided me until today.
First of all, I want to send special thanks to all teachers in Commercial English
Faculty who have been dedicated to teaching me during the past four years. Their
lectures and advice mean a lot to me when performing my internship duties.
I also want to thank all the employees in Savvycom Joint Stock Company. I have
learned a lot of good things from them, especially their passion and enthusiasm.
Finally, I want to thank my family. Without the encouragement and
understanding from my family, I wouldn't be able to do my job well.
I sincerely thank!

INTRODUCTION
Rationales for choosing the company for internship period
After the heavy economic losses globally caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the
story of recovery and reconstruction is of most concern. Based on the specifics of the
industry, IT is considered the least affected sector.
In domestic reality, during the Covid-19 epidemic period, Vietnam has clearly
seen the benefits of online applications as many problems are handled on IT platforms.
Organizing online meetings, online payment, e-government gradually put into
practice ... These are the clearest proofs for the bright future of IT industry.
IT is very important in the social life and is one of the effective tools in the
modernization of Vietnam's economy, that makes IT a key tool for national
development. To do this, it is necessary to have professional IT service providers to
ensure safety and efficiency. One of the leading IT service development companies in
Vietnam today is SAVVYCOM.
Report structure
Throughout this last-course internship, I am given an opportunity to apply the
theoretical knowledge which I had attained at university into practice at Savvycom
JSC as a beginner under the approval and supervision in the Sales department of the
company. After four weeks of work, I completed the report to include four parts:
Part 1: General introduction about Savvycom Software Joint Stock Company
Part 2: The internship process at the company
Part 3: Situation of using English at the company
Part 4: Suggestion of the Thesis
In the process of implementing the topic, due to knowledge limitations and time
constraints, the thesis cannot avoid errors. The writer hopes to receive comments from
readers to make the topic more complete.
Above is the beginning of the report, the basic and detailed contents of the study

will be presented in the following chapters of the report.

Diagram 1. Sales Process
And here is the detailed steps that I did when build the database in the market
Hongkong that I was assigned by my Sales Manager.
-

Step 1: Logging in LinkedIn or Angel.co, or other recruitment platform to

find the Leads that are suitable with our criteria. There are some key words that help
me to find the exactly Leads: NodeJS, Java, Python, ReactJS, iOS Native, UI/UX
Design, Wordpress, AWS DevOps,......
- Step 2: Using tools such as Clutch, Dun & Bradstreet, Crunchbase,... to
check the criteria.

- Step 3: Viewing decision maker by LinkeIn Sales Navigator ( The decision
maker of a company must be CEO, CTO, HR Manager, General Director,....)
- Step 4: Filling all information in the Prospecting sheet.
- Step 5: Sending the first email to all the decision maker to touch them.
- Step 6: Sending follow up email to keep in touch with the client.
- Step 7: Connecting with them on LinkedIn and making the visiting client’s
company to make website request
After one week of Prospecting, I had to make a Prospecting report to sent to my
direct mentor. She will analyse the number of emails, open rate and response rate to
evaluate my performance and come up with specific strategies to improve it.
2.2 Difficulties and experienced lessons
7

2.2.1 Difficulties
Although I had two years experience in Sales, I still met a lot of obstacle when I
start my internship period.
The very first difficulty that I met was the selection round of my company. I had
to go through five strict selection rounds to get into this company:
-

The First Round (CV selection): I have never had experience in writing an

CV. Therefore, it took me about one week to read many article as well as social media
post to learn how to write an CV. To write a good CV to beat other potential candidates
is much more difficult than I thought because there are a lot of skills that I have never
known before. After one struggling week, finally I had an CV for myselft and passed
the CV round.
- The second round (phone call): It surpriesed me a lot when they check all my
information and interview me right after 1 day by a phone call. It was much different

from other recruitment processes that I met. I didn’t have any preparation, but had to
answer all the questions that the HR department asked. Luckily, I passed this round by
the actual experience that I had.
- The third and fourth round was English Speaking and English Writing test
because when I work as a Sales intern I had to talk or write completely in English. By
using all knowledge I acquired when learning in English Falcuty in Thuong Mai
University, I have been appreciated.
- The last was the direct interview round conducting a haft by English and the
other by Vietnamese to check my specialized skills.
After five rounds, I successfully passed and became a Sales interns. I was really
happy and satisfied with the result I receive after my great effort.
The second difficult that I met was the less experience in Sales B2B. Inspite of
two years experience in Sales B2C, it was not enough for me to be good at Sales B2B.
This was an absolutely the different level. All my clients were C level such as CEO,
CTO, PMO,... and to reach them was really hard. I had to build my own email
template to make sure the open rate is highest. Here was the email template that I use
in the first week

8

Picture 4. First emil template
By using this template my open rate was 54%, the response rate was 5.4% and
the LinkedIn connected was 18.9%.
That number was not too low but still need to improve that’s why I build another
email template.

9

Picture 5. Second email template
By using this template my open rate was 62%, the response rate was 6% and the
LinkedIn connected was 23%.
That number was much better than the first one that made me quite satisfied but I
still try my best to raise this number day by day.
2.2.2 Experienced lessons
From the difficulties encountered during the practice, I gained a lot of practical
experience. I broaden my mind in the new industry that I love, sharpen my Sales skills
and widen my networking. Thanks to all the difficulies I absolutely understand one
thing:
“ Everything will be alright in the end. If it’s not alright, it’s not the end ”
This statement is exactly with me. I experienced all the difficulty in the time of
studying in Thuong Mai University and the time of finding a suitable job. However, if
you fail and get discouraged, you will certainly not have the success of today.
Therefore, the first experienced lesson that I want to always keep in my mind is:
Be Persistent. I am sure that everything won’t be easy in the beginning and I am
surely I will encounter failure once, twice or even more, but that's okay, I am still
young, just experience, learn from it and then success will definitely come soon.

10

The second thing that I always remind myself is: Be Proactive. When getting out
of university, no one else can remind me what I have to do today, what I should do, ...
but it all depends on proactive learning and self-awareness from myself.
Last but not least, don’t be lazy. There are many things we need to explore. As
long as we are a little lazy we will overlook a lot of great things

11

PART 3: SITUATION OF USING ENGLISH AT THE COMPANY
3.1 Situation of using English at the company
English is used as the main communication tool in my company. All the
employees in Savvycom can fluently use English when speaking, writing, listening or
reading. Thats make me really impressed and admired them a lot.
70% clients of Savvycom are foreigners so all employees recruited to the
company are required to have an intermediate level of English proficiency even they
are in back office or front office.
About Sales and MKT department, all members of this department are required
fluency in English especially in speaking and writing because it is the bridge from our
company to the potential customer.
In conclusion, English is a must at company and all employees are using it every
day
3.2 Suggestions for solutions to improve English proficiency
If there is something that I can suggest to improve English proficiency of
Savvycom, they must be two main things:
-

Organized an English club so that everyone could practice English every day

and connect with each other
- Daily practice listening English accent of different countries because the
company's market is very wide from all over the world. In order to reach more
customers, it is necessary to have better listening comprehension ability in any English
accent.
