1.1 The past simple tense

- Usage:
+ A completed action in the past
+ A completed situation in the past
+ A repeated action in the past
1.2 Grammatical structure: so … that …
Ex: Hetty became angry. She had a stroke.
 Hetty became so angry that she had a stroke

3. PRONUNCIATION
3.1 –ed ending:
In 3 ways - / id/ or /t/ or /d /
Note that it is the sound that
is important, not the letter
or spelling.
For example
"fax" ends in the letter "x"
but the sound /s/;
"like" ends in the letter "e"
but the sound /k/.
