I. Aims :
- By the end of the lesson, the students know more about different places in the world
- By the end of the lesson, the students are able to write about a certain place.
II. Lexical items :
- raw - thermal.

- Its main source of electricity comes from traditional thermal power stations , while water power
stations generate 6.3 %

Call one student to go to bb to write
down some expressions of comparisons,
and make two sentences with the
expressions, and leads to the lesson.

- Ask SS to read the paragraph about
The Kingdom of Thailand and complete
the table with correct information.
- Tell SS to compare answers in pairs
and then go over the answers with the
class.

- Ask SS to skim the paragraph again

The paragraph includes three main
parts:
Activity 2: Gap-filling
- Put SS into pairs, and give each pair a
handout of a gapped description of the
information in table 1
- Tell SS to study the table and compete
the description with suitable
information.
- when they have finished, tell SS to
compare answers in small groups.
- go over the answers with the class.
Activity 3: Making sentences

- ask SS to practice writing each
sentence as guided in the structure
models.
- call on some students to go to bb to
write down their writing
- T corrects them

- Ask Sts to write about a place as textbook
guided at home.
