I. Aims :
- By the end of the lesson, the students are able to write about hobbies .
- By the end of the lesson, the students are able to express themselves in writing.

- My stamp collection began when I was an 11 – year – old boy.

Presenting an outline:Chart
completion ( task a, textbook, p.168)
- put SS into pairs
- Ask SS to read the paragraphs and
complete the chart

- assign SS to give the answers.
-Check the answers with the whole
class.
- draw SS’ attention to the tenses used
in the report.

Writing it up
-Elicit the answers to the questions
similar to the content in the chart (
textbook, p. 168)
-Put SS into pairs.
-tell SS to write a paragraph about their
hobbies.

- go around to monitor the class and
give help where needed
-When they have finished, get SS to
exchange their writings with their
neighbors’.
-Call on some SS to read their friends’
writings one by one.
-Get SS to listen carefully and ask some
questions as in the chart to both check
listening comprehension and make sure
SS include necessary information in
their writing.
