SPECIAL PASSIVE SENTENCES
1. I don’t like people telling me what to do.
 I don’t like being told what to do.
2. He hates people keeping him waiting.
 He hates being kept waiting.
3. I remember someone taking me to the zoo when I was a child.
 I remember being taken to the zoo when I was a child.
4. There was a fight at the party but nobody got hurt.
 There was a fight at the party but nobody was hurt.
5. I don’t often get invited to parties .
-> I am not often invited to parties .
( we can use get instead of be in the passive )
6.We managed to climb over the wall without anybody seeing us.
-> We managed to climb over the wall without being seen.
7. It is said that she works 16 hours a day.
OR -> She is said to work 16 hours a day.
8. It is believed that the boy is wearing a white pullover and blue jeans.
OR -> The boy is believed to be wearing a white pullover and blue jeans.
9. It is said that there is a secret tunnel between the two houses.
OR -> There is said to be a secret tunnel between the two houses.
( We can use these structures with a number of other verbs , especially : alleged( buoäc
toäi), believed( tin), considered( cho laø), expected( cho laø), thought( nghó / cho raèng)….
