A. Warm- up:
- Introduce the lesson.
B. Presentation:
* Pre - reading:
- Give open prediction about the content of the lesson.
+ Who writes to whom ?
+ What is the letter talking about ?
- Explain some new words in the letter.
Vacation (n) : ky nghi
Celebrate (v) : lam le ky niem
Easter (n) : Le Phuc sinh
* While - reading:
- Ss read the letter for the first time.
- Ss read the letter to answer the given questions in pairs.
+ One asks and the other answers .
- T calls some pairs to perform in front of the class .
- Others can make any correction or addition .
- Give feedback.

- Give the correct answers:
a) Summer vacation is the longest in America.
b) During his vacation, Tim spends time with his family.
c) Vietnamese students have fewer vacation than American
students.
*Post-reading :
- T asks Ss to work individually to write a letter to any of their
friends to talk about any vacations in Viet Nam which they
remember and like best.
- calls some Ss to read aloud their writing in front of the class .
4. Consolidation :
- T revises Ss the way of writing an informal letter in English .
