3. When is Teachers’ Day?
4. What do you often do on that day?
Lead in : To know more about the
popular celebration we will learn the
new lesson: Writing
While-Writing (25’)
T: Before writing, discuss in groups
about the celebrations chosen.
Give some cues related to some popular
celebrations.
T goes around for help.
T collects students’ ideas and writes


Observe and work in pairs to answer

Things or activities relating to :
1) Independence Day :
marches, parades, meetings, flags,
banners, demonstration, and a day

off.
2) Mid-Autumn Festival :
them on the board.
Asks ss to write a description of one of
the popular celebrations in Vietnam
(e.g. Mid-Autumn Festival, National
Independence Day, Teachers’ Day,
Women’s Day, ect. ). Your description
should include the following main
points :



name and time of the festival



purpose / meaning of the festival



main activities of the festival



your feeling about the festival (
whether you like it or not and the
reason(s) )
- Have students do the writing
Post-Writing (15’)

Has the representatives of two groups
to write their description on the
blackboard.

Describing a celebration: Teachers’
Day
Every year, on November 20
th

, all schools throughout our country
celebrate Teachers’ Day. It is a good
time for students to show their love,
respect and gratitude towards their
teachers. On the morning of
November 20
th
, all students are at
school to attend the celebration and
Mid-Autumn Festival :

Mid-Autumn Festival is of my most
favourite festivals. It is held on the 15
th

day of the 8
th
lunar month every year.
It’Ss the time when Vietnamese people
celebrate the largest full moon in the
year. The children have parties with
special cakes and grapefruits. They
also parade in the street with their
beautiful lantern, which come in all
shapes and sizes. Adults buy moon
cakes for their relatives and friends. It
is a great time for not only children but
also adults

- Gives remarks and correct mistakes.
Assigns homework
enjoy the music show played by our
school band and other students.
After that we give our teachers
beautiful flowers, cards and best
wishes. We also pay a visit to our
former teachers in the afternoon.
I enjoy Teachers’ Day because
it is on that day that we can show
our gratitude towards our teachers.
