Unit 9: A first-aid course
Period 58 - Lesson 4: Read

I. Objectives :
-After the lesson Ss will be able to know more about the way to do the first –aids
other cases; fainting, shock, burns.
- To drill reading skill.
II.Teaching aids
, Text book + picture + posters.
III. Teaching procedure.
1. Class organization
2. Oral test
-Do the exercise4 (page: - 56) in the work book.
3. New lesson:
A. Warm up (3’).
- Play the matching.

- Ask the Ss to read the answer.
B. Pre- reading.
- Ask the Ss to list the case they learnt in the last lesson.
-Introduce the reading. Give the new words:
Faint: ngất Lying flat: nằm thẳng Elevate > < lower:
nâng><hạ
Victim: nạn nhân. Revive: tỉnh lại Ease the pain: giảm vết đau


Minimize tissue damage: giảm tối đa sự hư hỏng các mô
C. While- reading
Ask the Ss to scan the text and work in pairs to choose the case for the treatments
mentioned in the book.
- Ask some pairs to give the correct answer.
- Read aloud the answers.
- Check the mistake if necessary.

- Ask the Ss to read the text aloud.
- Correct the pronunciation if necessary.

- Ask the Ss to give and discuss again the case and how to do the first aids.
- Give the explanation to the Ss and help them to discuss .

- Asks the Ss to retell the main content of the reading and some main words used
