I. Pre

Have you ever heard about UFOs?


Do you think UFOs really exist?


If you saw a UFO, what would you do?
2.Pre

teach:


Aircraft (n) : máy bay, kinh khí cầu (picture)



Spacecraft(n) : tàu vũ trụ (picture)


Meteor (n) : sao băng (translation)


Evidence (n) : bằng chứng (definition)
Anything that makes clear, shows on proves


Alien (n) : người hành tinh khác (explanation)


Sight (v) : chứng kiến (synonym) => sighting (n)


Soil sample (n) : mẫu đất (explanation)

3.Pre-questions :
a. Do you believe there are UFOs?
b.Has anybody seen UFOs?
c.What did they look like?
- Ask Ss to answer 1st question personally then read the text and find the answers for
questions b,c.
II. While

reading:
1. Answer pre-questions:

- Get Ss to read the text and find the words in the text that have the meanings

Have the whole class discuss the topic “UFOs”


Choose a good student to be the leader


Get the leader to make a summary of the evidence of the escistence of UFOs and
then discuss with the classmates


Give the leader some questions for him/her to ask the rest student


Eg:

Have you ever seen a picture of an alien? Can you imagine what the
aliens are like? Are they small or big? Are they intelligent? (If yes, why
do you think so?, )
2.Grammar awareness:

-Write Ss’ answer on board : If I saw a UFO, I would take a photo.
Form : If + S + V (past) …… , S + would + V (bare)
Be-> were
Meaning : Nếu … thì …
Use : Conditional sentence II (unreal situation at the present)
Concept check : Did you see a UFO? (No)
Did you take a photo? (No)
Is it real situation? (No)
Does the situation belong to the past or present? (Present)
Is the past tense used in If-clause?
Is “would” or “will” used in the main clause?
