* Diễn tả một hành động, sự việc xảy ra một cách thường xuyên và đều đặn.
* Nói đến một chân lí, một việc ở bất kì thời điểm nào cũng đúng.

+ Những động từ tận cùng là chữ “e” thì ta phải bỏ “e” rồi mới thêm “ing”
+ Động từ có một âm tiết, nếu tần cùng là một phụ âm, trước nó là một nguyên âm thì ta
phải gấp đôi phụ âm cuối rồi mới thêm “ing”.
* Dấu hiệu nhận biết:

III. Thì tương lai gần: “To be going to + V-bare infinitive”: sắp, sẽ, dự định
- S + to be

Chú ý: V -bare infinitive: Gọi là động từ nguyên mẫu không "to"
* Cách dùng: Nói lên dự định, một kế hoạch, hay một hành động sắp xảy ra trong tương lai
gần nhất.
* Các trạng từ đi kèm: Tonight, tomorrow, on the weekend, next week, next Sunday, ….
IV. Trạng từ tần suất: Always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, seldom, never.
* Cách dùng: Diễn đạt mức độ đều đặn hoặc thường xuyên của hành động.
* Vị trí trong câu: Đứng trước động từ thường (play, listen, go, watch,…… ) và đứng sau
động từ to be (am/is/are).
Ví dụ: I often go fishing in the spring.
It is usually cold in the winter.
V. Đưa ra lời đề nghị, gợi ý:
Để đưa ra lời đề nghị hay một lời gợi ý, ta dùng 1 trong 3 cấu trúc sau:
1. Dùng câu mệnh lệnh “Let’s….” (chúng ta hãy….)
Let’s = Let us.
Let’s + V-bare infinitive
Ví dụ: Let’s listen to music.
2. Dùng câu hỏi với “What about …… ?” (…. Thì sao?/ nhé?)
How about/What about + V_ing… ?
Ví dụ: What about listening to music?
3. Dùng câu hỏi với “Why don’t we/you… ?” (tại sao không…?)
Why don’t we/you + V-bare infinitive?
Ví dụ: Why don’t we listen to music?
VI. Câu hỏi “How often ……….?” hỏi mức độ thường xuyên của hành động như thế nào.
How often + do/does + S + V-infinitive …?

Ví dụ: How often do you play badminton?
I never play badminton.
VII. Câu hỏi “What colors…… ?” ( màu gì): hỏi về màu sắc.
What colors + to be + S? => S + to be + color
Ví dụ: What colors is your hair?
It is black.
VIII. Câu hỏi “Which sports …… ?” (thể thao nào): hỏi về hoạt động thể thao.
Ví dụ: Which sports do you play?
I skip.
IX. Câu hỏi “What weather … ?/ What is the weather like….?”: hỏi về thời tiết.
Ví dụ: What weather do you like?
I like cold weather.
X. Câu hỏi “How much is it?” (giá bao nhiêu): hỏi về giá tiền
Ví dụ: How much is a glass of orange juice?
It is 3,000 dong.
XI. Câu hỏi “How many…/How much…. + do/does+ S + V-infinitive?” (bao nhiêu): hỏi về
số lượng.
- How many + danh từ đếm được số nhiều (eggs, oranges, apples,…)
- How much + danh từ không đếm được (water, rice, meat, coffee,…)
Ví dụ: How many eggs do you want?
I want a dozen eggs.
XII. Quantifiers: Some and Any

1/ Where + to be + S + from? (Bạn đến từ đâu?)
S + to be + from + tên quốc gia.

XV. So sánh hơn/ so sánh nhất.
1. Comparatives: So sánh hơn.
Ex: PETRONAS Twin Tower is taller than Sears Towers.
Form: S1 + to be + short adj + er + than + S2
2. Superlatives: So sánh nhất
Ex: The Great Wall of China is the longest structure in the world.
Form: S + to be + the + short adj + est
XVI. Imperative: Câu mệnh lệnh
1. Affirmative imperative: Câu mệnh lệnh khẳng định (dung để sai bảo, ra lệnh
hoặc yêu cầu ai làm gì)
*Form: V-infinitive + Object +, (please).
Ex: Sit down, please.

2. Negative imperative: Câu mệnh lệnh phủ định (Dùng để ngăn cản ai hoặc ra lệnh
ai đừng làm điều gì)
*Form: Don’t + V-infinitive + object +, (please).
Ex: Don’t walk on the grass, please.
Don’t talk in class.
XVII. Modal verbs:
1. a lot of/ lots of có nghĩa là nhiều, đứng trước danh từ đếm được hoặc không đếm
được.
Ex: My country has a lot of mountains.
My country has lots of beaches.
My country has a lot of rain.
2. a few/a little: có nghĩa là một ít
* “a few” đứng trước danh từ đếm được.

Ex: a few cars, a few rulers, a few books, …
* “a little” đứng trước danh từ không đếm được.
Ex: a little money, a little sugar, a little coffee, …
