ABSTRACT
This paper reviews and discusses the current development of Internet-GIS as well
as its future, suggested Kvwmap for the development of an Environmental
Information System in Vietnam. The paper presents the results of applying this
technology for the development and management of environmental information
system in Hochiminh city and Mekong delta with some basis GIS functions, edit,
query, digitize, import/export and some advaced functions as online spatial
analyse, realtime monitoring of mobile devices with GPS.
The results have proved the advantages of Kvwmap, an open source web GIS
application, and let us know why it has been widely used in Europe. The
application of Kvwmap in Vietnam is not only bring the high economical
efficiency but also help us with updated cloud technology which has been
developed and applied in the world.
