Period 45: C - LISTENING
I. Mục tiêu:
1. Kiến thức: Sau khi học xong, học sinh có khả năng:
Nghe hiểu đoạn văn về những thay đổi ở một thị trấn nhỏ ở Anh.
2. Kỹ năng. Rèn cho học sinh kỹ năng:
Nghe và điền từ vào chỗ trống.
Nghe hiểu thông tin chi tiết vận dụng lựa chọn phương án đúng hoặc sai.
3. Thái độ.
Học sinh yêu thích môn học, hứng thú học tập, nói về những thay đổi ở một thị trấn
nhỏ ở Anh.
II. Chuẩn bị:
1. Giáo viên: sách giáo khoa, phấn, thước, giáo án, bảng phụ…
2. Học sinh: sách giáo khoa, sách bài tập, bút chì, bút…

Activity 1: A – WARM UP (3’)
- Ask Ss to close the book, discuss the
differences between them:
- Make necessary comments.
- Work in pairs to discuss:
In the past, the town used to have only
small houses, but now there are tall
buildings.
In the past, there weren’t any hotels, but


now there is a hotel in the town.
In the past, there used to be no cars in
the town, but now there is a big car park
with a lot of cars inside.
In the past, the roads used to be small,
but now they are bigger and wider.
In the past, the buffalos used to walk on
the roads, but now there aren’t any
buffalos on the roads.
In the past, the roads used to be dirty,
but now they are very clean.
Activity 2:
B – BEFORE YOU LISTEN (6’)
Introduce the new lesson: You will hear
someone talking about the changes in his
hometown.
- Provide new words and structures:
tourist resort: khu du lịch
pull down: phá bỏ
in the middle of: ở giữa
cut down: chặt bỏ
turn into: chuyển thành/ biến thành
be replaced by: được thay thế bằng
- Read the phrase words once.
- Ask Ss to read in chorus after T.
- Call on some Ss to read out loud.
- Correct Ss’ mistakes of pronunciation.
- Take note and make sentences with
words if have time.

C – WHILE YOU LISTEN (26’)
Task 1: (8’) True / false statements
Giving instruction: You are going to listen
to the tape and decide whether the statements
are true or false. Put a tick (√) in the
appropriate box.
- Instruct Ss to use some strategies to do the
task:
+ Read through the statements to understand
them.
+ underline key words.
- Let Ss guess the answers.
- Play the tape twice for Ss to do the task.
- Ask Ss to work in pairs to compare their
answers.
- Play once more time if necessary.
