1 . BAT VAN B£
Dira nuoc (N ypa fru tica n s) dupe xem 14 cay chi

buong hoa, tdng sd trai/buong, ti Id trai chdc (30
ngay/ldn). Do min cua nuoc dugc do vao ngay 14
din 16 hang thang khi nuoc dang ldn, do 6 do sau
c4ch mat nuoc 20 cm. Su tang trudng cua budng hoa
dugc tinh toan theo phuong trinh tang trudng dx/dt
= kx (a-x) cua Robertson (1908, trich dan bdi Reed,

1920). Trong dd x la gia tri quan sat (qs), t la thdi
dilm quan sat, a la sd cuoi cung cua gia tri xqs+SE, tj
la thdi gian d gi4 tri x = a/2, k la hang sd.

3.1. Biln ddng vl dd m$n cua nude dr ba dilm
khio s4t
Qua khao sat do m4n cua nuoc d ba diem cd su
kh4c nhau va biln dong qua cac thang (Hinh 1).
Dilm thi nghidm thuoc huydn Tran Dl cd do man
cao nhait v4 dp man luon duy tri d muc rat cao vao cac
thing trong nam so vdi hai dilm cdn lai. Tai Tran Dd
dd man trong nude vao thang ba 14 cao nhat
(20,82±0,27%o). O dilm thi nghidm thuoc huydn Dai
Ngai thi dd min trong nude hau nhu luon on djnh va
gi4 trj dd man rat nho khdng vupt qua 0,l%o qua cac
thing. T?ii C4ng Long thi do man trong nude cd su
thay doi qua cac thang, vao cac thang mua khd do
m4n trong nude or dilm thi nghidm nay cd su gia
tang, dac bidt vao thang hai la thdng cd do man cao
nhit l,33±0,08%o. Theo to chuc Y te thi gidi (WHO)
dp man cho phep trong nude uong nam d nguong
0,25%o. Nhu vay, dua vao do man cd thi phan ra day
14 ba vung nude. Tran D l 14 vung nude man, Dai Ngai
14 vung nude ngpt v4 C4ng Long 14 vung nude lo.

3.2. Mua vu ra hoa
Cay dira nude d tat ca cac thang trong nam thi
dlu hau het cd su xuat hidn cua phat hoa mdi (Hinh
2). Tuy nhidn, d ba vung thi dua nude ra hoa tap
trung trong mua kho tu thang 11 den thang 4 ndm
sau. O vung nuoc man thi cay dua nude ra hoa tap
trung vao thang 11 ddn thang 3 ndm sau, trong khi
dd d vung nude ngot thi cay ra hoa tap trung nhidu
nhat tu thdng 1 ddn thang 4. 6 vung nude lp thi cdy
hau nhu ra hoa quanh nam. Nhu vay co thi thay
rdng, cay dua nude ra hoa tap trung vao cac thdng
mua kho vd thdng cuoi mua mua, vao cac thdng mua
mua thi cay rat it ra hoa. Theo Toe et al. (2010) thi
cay dua nude phat triln trong bai bdi, noi thuy triiu
chay cham, nude song cd nhilu phu sa ndn vao mua

khao sat. Thuc hi£n vi£c tinh toan theo phuong trinh
tang trudng cua Robertson (1908), chieu cao la dat
toi da la 713,9±75,2 cm (nude man), 841,5±88,1 cm
(nude lg) va 796,&t84,4 cm (nude ngot). Chi£u cao la
dat toe do tang trudng cue dai tai thdi diem 3,76
thang (nude man), 3,73 thang (nude lo) va 3,66 thang
(nude ngot). Tir thdi di<?m nay trd di thi toe do gia

tang v£ chieu cao cua la cham lai cho den khi 14 dat
chi£u cao tdi da. Thdi gian la tang trudng dat toe do
toi da d ca ba vung nam trong khoang 3,54 thang
sau khi tach ra khoi 14 me. L4 dira nude can thdi gian
khoang s4u th4ng d<? co th£ dat chi^u cao toi da. La
dira nude khi dat chi£u cao tdi da d ba viing nude n4y

3.4. D$c tinh budng hoa

Budng hoa dira nude dat khdi lugng tdi da d

3.5. Khdi luong trii chic
Trai chic dat khoi lugng toi da d thang thu sau,
sau do on dinh toi thing thu muoi (Hinh 10). Phuong
trinh ting truong cua Robertson (1908) cho thay

3.6. Chi£u dii cudng budng hoa

Chidu dai cudng budng hoa dira nude d ba viing
cd su khic bi£t d muc y nghia 5% qua phan tich
thong k6 d timg thdi didm khao sit (Hinh 12). Cuong

thap nhat la d viing nude min. Chi£u dai cudng

AT THREE ECOLOGICAL AREAS, SALT AFFECTED, BRACKISH AND FRESHWATER AREA
IN THE MEKONG DELTA

Summary
This study, conducted on Nypa palm grown at three locations, i.e. Tran De and Dai Ngai district, Soc Trang
province, and Cang Long district, Tra Vinh province from November 2010 to February 2012, was aimed to
investigate blossoming and nut growth characteristics of Nypa palm located at three ecological areas, viz.
salt affected, brackish, and freshwater area. At each location, 40 infructescences, 50 brushwoods, 10 fronds
were investigated. The growth of infructescence and nut was calculated by Robertson growth equation
(1908, cited by Reed, 1920) described as dx/dt = kx (a-x). Results showed that blossoming of Nypa palm
occurred during the dry season, from November to April next year. The highest blossoming ratio of Nypa
palm was observed at salt affected area (72%), while the lowest one was observed at freshwater area (60%).
The necessary period for infructescence at the three locaitons to reach maximum size was 6 months, from
blossoming. At salt affected area, Nypa palm had smaller values of weigh and circumference of
infructescence, filled nut size, peduncle length, and leaf height in comparison to that of the palm grown in
brackish and freshwater area. Among the three areas, there was no significant difference in total number of
nut per bunch, and filled nut ratio.
