CHANGE OVER REPORT

A/PROPERTY EQUIMENT.
- Accommodate with all properties, Safety protective equipment for Ship's work
will be handed to new A.B by the "Inventory for individual check list".

B/DUTY
- Present Watch: 00:00-04:00 and 12:00-16:00.

1./Ship’s sailing
- Normally all of watch you should keep watch in bridge under officer control
,and how to keep watch you must understand how to do how AB’s duty . However
when ship is ocean going every watch in the daylight you can go down for
working on deck under Boatswain’s order ,of course you have a permission from
Master, C/o or officer in charge.
- Furthermore when working on deck, the weather had become bad such as
heavy rain ,or coastal navigation, or pass straight you must be back to bridge.
- When you keep watch: you take the watch from last AB and hand over watch to
next AB at the beginning and at the end of each watch. Before finished watch you
must check weather and other, then record them in to<report>>.
- The below notes can help you for the best working.
a./WATCH 0000-0400:
- In the morning at 03.00 everyday you must go down for carrying safety patrol.
The items you should check as follow safety check list.
You must be checked oil leakage, water leakage, fire, check amount of FW,DW,

after that its written down in to check list. During check if find out any you
immediately report to duty officer and be back to bridge.
-In the afternoon: after receiving watch at 12.00 you must tested air horn, and
then go down to E ’room and steering room for checking amount of FW,DW, and
check the data of steering. After reading you must cleanup oil leakage , grease up.
Especially, when ship’s before arrival or departure you must paint oil on 4 piston,
grease up to rudder stock, bars…And 13.00 you can go down for working on


deck.
b./ WATCH 04.00-08.00 and 16.00-20.00:
-Clean up bridge and collect garbage when sunrise , and then you may have a job
from C/O’ order.
-Afternoon: you work on deck until 17.00, then back to bridge for watch keeping.
c./ WATCH 08.00-12.00 and 20.00-24.00:
-Normally join deck working team under Boatswain or Officers of responsibility
Control. Stay to keep watch on Bridge if request.
-2000-2400 : Keep Watch on the bridge as the A/B responsibility under the Duty
Officer Control,.
2./ Stay on Anchor.
- Normally look out on the bridge . May be working Together day work by
Master's order or Chief Officer's order.
-Make Record to "Quarter Master report each watch"
-Take over and hand watch over on the Bridge.
-Tidy up the bridge before the watch's end
-More other Works under Officer's order.
-After sunrise switch off anchorage light and hoist the flag.
-Before sunset switch on anchorage light and lower the flag.
3./Along Side the Berth.
- Keep Harbor watch on deck.

-At loading port , AB and OS together keep harbor watch , at discharging AB
keep watch only.
-At discharging watch: AB’s keep watch alone.
-In watch: AB keep harbor watch responsibility.
-Take watch over and hand watch over in the ship's office.
-Take special attention should be paid on the tension of mooring rope, especially
to take attention to the breast lines
-Check the weather and record in to "Quarter Master daily report" at the end of
each watch
-More other works in watch under officer's Control
-Make sure mooring ropes tight
-Check oil leakage on deck & Sea water surface
-Usually keep watch gang way
-When Customer on board escort him to saloon or Ship's office and report to
Officer's duty.
-Operate hydraulic pump fluently
-Some time can come to Ship's office for tea break


-After sunrise ( before sunset) switch off ( switch on) all light and hoist ( lower)
the flag.

4./Standby time
-On duty : Stay at the bridge to Control the Wheel and join Standby team after
finishing duty on the bridge , under command of Master and Pilot.
-Off duty : Join stand by team with other A.B at poop deck, Under 2nd/OFF
Control
-Standby work : Switch on mooring winches, standby mooring lines, Micro ,
Speaker, heaving line etc…
-Take tug line let go tug line under Officer's order.

-Standby gangway , shore ladder
-Do standby work as the Sailor's responsibility when ship come along side or
leave the port
-Cover all equipment , tools and others after standby time.
-More others works, under officers control.

5./Emergency and practice
-For more detail see Muster list in cabin
6./Turn watch over.
-A.B watch turns after a voyage under Chief Officer's Schedule
-Take new watch over from last A.B and hand present watch over to next A.B
7./ Other Duties.
-Under Master's order or Officer's order.
