- T writes some sentences on the
board and asks Ss what the tense of 2
sentences is.
- Ss think and answer.

A. THE PRESENT SIMPLE
1. Form:
- Affirmative:
 I /We/ You / They / S plural
 She / He/ It / S singular + V s/es
 V-es: -o, -s, -z, -x, -sh, -ch
- Negative:
 I /We/ You / They / S plural + don’t +Vinf
 She / He/ It / S singular + doesn’t + Vinf

- Interrogative:
Do/ Does + S + Vinf?
Yes, S + do / does
No, S + don’t / doesn’t

1. To express the truth
Ex1: The sun rises in the East.

2. To express the habit at present
Ex: I often get up at 6 a.m.

4. The Common Adverbs:
1. Always, usually often sometimes, occasionally
seldom, rarely never
2. Every + Noun (every day, every Sunday, every
morning, every week, every month, every year, every
summer, etc.)
3. Once, twice / three times, four times, etc. (once a
week, twice a month, three times a year, etc.)
B. ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY
Always, usually often sometimes, occasionally
