I. The present simple tense:
1.Tobe:
Ex. I am a student.
I am not a student.
Are you a student ?
What is your name?
2. Ordinary verbs:
All the person singular and plural except the third person
singular is is used with infinitive verbs.
Ex. I/ we/ you/ they work.
The third person singular is is used with verb + s/ es.
Verbs ending with o, ch, sh, ss, x, z we add –es.
Ex. He/ She works
He/ she goes to school.


Verb ending with “y”, we change “y” to “i” and then we
add “es”, if before “y” is a consonant.
Ex. Fly flies , study studies.
Ex. They don’t do their homework.
Do they do their homework?
What do they usually do at home?
II. The present progressive tense:
